Tester needed: Streaming services tweak.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 30 Jul 2004 12:24

Hello,

I know there are a number of you that are not able to access our streaming information due to corperate firewalls.

We have just put in place some code which I hope will get round the problems caused by these firewalls.

If you have been unable to get streaming information from MoneyAM due to corperate firewalls and would be willing to test some stuff out of us, can you please post below.

Many thanks,
J.

Mozilla Firefox (free browser)has a nice feature which lets you block popups but allows you to specify sites where you wish to allow them.

brockman - 01 Aug 2004 23:39 - 21 of 46

Long lunch break guys...??

MightyMicro - 02 Aug 2004 16:21 - 31 of 46

stockbunny: are you behind a company firewall? What's your connection to the Internet?

stockbunny - 02 Aug 2004 16:24 - 32 of 46

No not behind a firewall of the company variety, just a standard norton
one which I always have on - connection is dial up I'm afraid

MightyMicro - 02 Aug 2004 16:48 - 33 of 46

Bunny: you probably should try disabling the Norton firewall to see if StockWatch downloads and runs then -- sounds like Java applet download is inhibited.

stockbunny - 02 Aug 2004 16:52 - 34 of 46

OK took firewall down, tried stockwatch, no joy...

optomistic - 02 Aug 2004 17:11 - 35 of 46

Stockbunny, re enable the firewall, your system is at risk. You have had no problems before, so firewall is unlikely to be the cause now.

stockbunny - 02 Aug 2004 17:13 - 36 of 46

Thanks Opto - I have done - see you in the tea-rooms, I could do with
a cuppa

stockbunny - 02 Aug 2004 17:58 - 37 of 46

Ok well if anyone comes up with some great idea please post it for me
Cheers people and have a good evening!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2004 06:46 - 38 of 46

stockbunny,

Don't know whether this has been suggsted before, but you could try installing the latest Java Plugin. Is this problem on Stockwatch only or does it affect other streaming services like trades?

Ian

stockbunny,

I just checked all our servers and they do hold that java file, so it isnt what I thought it may be.

Are you still getting the problems today by any chance?

J.
