Green Shoots?

Gausie - 26 Nov 2008 13:36

A fair few stocks are starting to edge up again - maybe the start of a recovery or maybe they'll be squashed flat when the dead cat bounces on them.

Post any charts here.

Qualifiers are -

recent uptrend (at least one significant higher high and one significant higher low) current price above a rising 50 day MA.

As of now eleven of the green shoots have rotted and seven still survive.

That's in the top (green) section.

And four out of the six maybes are gonners.

Now you know me (TP). I'm usually the prophet of hope around here - but I can't add much cheer offhand.

I guess the lesson is that a 50 day MAV is too short for the present climate. I'm a point and figure man myself. I'll see if I can come up with something - but no promises.

But thanks, all the same, Gausie for giving us a few weeks of hope. Every little counts!

Looks like the recent cold snap has killed off a quite a few green shoots.

VPC didn't make it to the header (despite been posted twice previously!) buck up Gausie. Seems there might be a bid at 700p (comment by Mitzy in the other room).

mitzy - 14 Jan 2009 21:15 - 209 of 297

Yes Centrica paid 700p a share for VPC today could be a bid at 800p plus.

Also Rift in break-out mode.

MightyMicro - 14 Jan 2009 23:31 - 210 of 297

According to Baroness Vadera, Minister for Business (picture of foxy chick Minister below to brighten up this thread)

"I am seeing a few green shoots but it's a little bit too early to say exactly how they'd grow."

Going on to mix herself a large metaphor, she said: "Is this a positive straw in the wind, or should we say one swallow does not make a summer? It's too early to say."
