aldwickk
May be you could contact them for us cheers in advance, xxxx.

Worrier - 19 Sep 2006 17:59 - 20027 of 27111

On a point of clarification aldwickk, what does "His to late" mean, followed by your accusation that another poster is a "pratt" ?

cynic - 19 Sep 2006 18:08 - 20028 of 27111

Alan .... you seem to be the guru of this stuff so please tell me ...... i am sure i read an article to the effect that starch based biodegradable plastics actually hinder breakdown when applied to cardboard carton ..... or is that my usual total crap?

hewittalan6 - 19 Sep 2006 18:11 - 20029 of 27111

Worrier,
Please feel free to contact Asda. You could even copy in my e-mail and say we discuss green initiatives!!!
I feel fairly sated by the one I got, and I think we will see a GS announcement from either SEO or Asda very shortly (no inside knowledge, just guessing), so I will wait patiently.
Alan

hewittalan6 - 19 Sep 2006 18:15 - 20030 of 27111

I'm no guru, cynic, I was just very lucky to know the right people at the right time.
There is a theory about mixing biodegradable materials with other stuff stopping it composting properly, and there is the problem of the glue or PE layer on non GS stuff contaminating the remaining biodegradable element, but you would need to speak to a scientist about that!!
My final concern is that I read the Asda e-mail to mean green wheelie bins, but they also put green bins outside their supermarkets to accept plastic bags for recycling. It could mean either, though I doubt they would want people to put biodegradable plastic in bins that contained ordinary plastic.
Time will tell.

Hi all I'm still in ,bought another 300,000 in the past few weeks.Remember "SPECULATE TO ACCUMULATE"..."RISK AND REWARD".."NO GAIN WITHOUT PAIN".Still quietly confident, let's see what the next few weeks brings.

blackdown - 19 Sep 2006 18:25 - 20032 of 27111

Remember also that a fool and his/her money are easily parted. There is always someone out there who knows more than you do. Why do you think that the price has been gradually drifting Southwards. Somebody, somewhere is unloading and looking for somebody, somewhere to unload onto.

Mad Pad - 19 Sep 2006 18:29 - 20033 of 27111

Maybe but having done very well in the past 12 months including out of SEO I'm happy to have a 10k gamble now and again and I consider the odds at 3.5/4p on SEO to be fair IMO.

aldwickk - 19 Sep 2006 18:33 - 20034 of 27111
