I think it depends on your style.Over the last couple of weeks you could have used your money to better effect in B.Soc cash.If you take a 5 yr view and don't want to get involved you'd be better off in say Tesco or Rio.If you're a trader the present market volatility is great if you get it right. If you look at a 1 month investment there are plenty of oil explo's expecting news.Soco has been well researched and is delivering as predicted, lots of hope in MTA/MXP/EME/PANR IEC etc.I would see COH as a 2 yr investment, steady growth with the 2 yr tax break at that time.Taking a 2 yr view where else would anyone suggest as a better place than COH ?

I'm still in as I believe long term they will deliver. With no news being posted it looks as if there could be some pain in the short term though.

FTSE nearly 100 points down, the last couple of times the FTSE fell so did COH... A programme on the radio was saying they believed the markets would drop between 5 to 10%... Agree that short term the price will be affected but long term nothing has changed and hopefully news on roll outs will help SP recover to previous levels...

if market weakness continues at all, expecy 34p to be hit which, from memory, was the support level PT indicated a couple of weeks back

Hi, Hope everyone is well, just wondering if anyone else intends to go to the AGM which will probably be in Nov/Dec probably in Uckfield (East Sussex)...
I would also guess that our friend has either decided he has had enough of this thread/company or has been removed...
Regards.

AdieH, I am relying on the possibility that David10B has been removed so I have un-squelched you. I'm looking forward to reading your posts again without any reference to David.
Cheers, UC.

As no one has commented on the results I may as well post my take on things.
Still very much a long term hold with perhaps a a little pain in the short term. Many investors were perhaps hoping for an aggressive roll out of stores but the fact remains RW continues to be cautious in this area.
For those of us who have been invested from the early stages nothing has really changed and I feel critism on this point is a little unfair as this stratergy has always been the case.
Hopefully for those with patience we will be well rewarded by the fact that they are determined to secure the best sites for the best price at the expense of an aggressive roll out.
I also like the the incentive for employees to be able to buy a stake in the company as this must be almost unheard of in the countries in which they operate.
Still very happy to hold.

One comment on roll out.
If you divide the roll out costs by stores openings in the period you get / store :-

Doesn't look as though he's going for growth at any cost!

Unfortunately if people looked into the balance sheet of a company like this they could have avoided the pain. however most people just buy stock on hype and speculation.

i can't read balance sheets or any of that sort of stuff ...... however, the whole concept of franchising overseas etc never stood up when there was no proven and solid base to support in UK
from 10/7/07
"i have said it before, it gives me concern (or it would do if i was investing my money) that COH does not seem to have a solid homebase, yet it thinks it has the knowledge and strength and financial and organisational skills to open up willy-nilly abroad ...... feels to me like a great leap of faith for both the management and the investors!"
