Happy Birthday HT, did you get the telegram?

hilary - 04 Sep 2003 18:17 - 2018 of 23498

Good evening Socs old bean. I see that your Mice have retraced a touch today ...... nothing to worry about yet though, imo. I do vaguely recall talking to you about them. What did I suggest that you did at the time?

:-)

PS. Have you got my address for the commission cheque?

PPS. To Jeffmack. Have you stopped whingeing about Ashtead yet?

PPPS. To HT. Happy Birthday.

PPPPS. Where's my glass of White Zinfandel?

Socrates - 04 Sep 2003 18:52 - 2019 of 23498

Hilary
I asked if you agreed with my opinion that the time was not right to buy, testing my interpretation of the charts, and you did. I bought about three weeks later. Poor old 'slater' had bought 100,000 when I asked you, and then announced he sold the day I bought. He dropped around 10p per share. I felt terribly smug about it but he just got the timing wrong, his thoughts about the value were spot on.

You don't say much about your trades these days, are you just playing your cards close to your chest or are you out of the market?

Oh, and here's a barrel of cool White Zinfandel!

jgp212 - 04 Sep 2003 19:16 - 2020 of 23498

Who is whinging about that great company AHT? Me bought a large block after they passed 15p yesterday. Looking good to make serious money over the next few months.

Even after today Me can afford a poney for HT's birthday present!

hilary - 04 Sep 2003 19:26 - 2022 of 23498

Socs,

Indeed. I do recall exactly your Mice ...... I was just pulling your leg. And I do mention my positions but only in the Kama Sutra and the Traders Thread on the pbb. I'm currently about 90% invested (up from about 60% a few days ago). am have got a free offer of L2 plus their Premium services for a week. Why don't you take advantage of it?

Now about that Zinfandel .........

MightyMicro - 04 Sep 2003 19:45 - 2023 of 23498

White Zin? Puhleeazze! What you want is Zinfandel from Ridge Vineyards, high in the hills (Hils - geddit?!?) above Palo Alto. Wonderful stuff.

hilary - 04 Sep 2003 19:51 - 2024 of 23498

So the Ernest & Julio plonk from Sierra Valley is naff then, MM?

MightyMicro - 04 Sep 2003 21:14 - 2025 of 23498

Hils: Regrettably so. It's OK as a chilled poolside drink, I must admit, but so is Pepsi. Gallo have great marketing, though, and own 55% of the California wine trade.

A tour of California's Napa Valley is a delight and an education. My favourites there are Mondavi, Niebaum-Coppola (Francis Ford Coppola's gaff), Sterling Vineyards (like a Greek monastery, on top of a hill at Calistoga) and, for the sparklers, Mumm Cuvee Napa at Rutherford.

If you're ever out that way, I'll give you the guided tour.

MM

hilary - 04 Sep 2003 21:32 - 2026 of 23498

Derek,

You're oblivious to the fact that I spend at least an hour a day in the pool, so the Gallo plonk suits me fine. And I prefer Diet Coke to anything that Pepsi produce.

:-)

Isn't wine a personal thing though? I've drunk all sorts and, for a refreshing summer drink, White Zin fits the bill perfectly, imo (especially given that it's been on offer at Tesco recently!). How many people drink it from a tall glass full of ice, I wonder? Like I say, it's all about personal taste. I also like Chablis, but, equally, I wouldn't turn my nose up at a bottle of Macon Villages from the local co-operative at a fraction of the price.

Now about that tour ........

jeffmack - 04 Sep 2003 21:59 - 2027 of 23498

Hil
I did leave you you a message on the traders thread but I guess you didnt read back. I just wanted to confirm that the target for AHT was 29p, as you promised......

jeffmack - 04 Sep 2003 22:00 - 2028 of 23498

BTW, I sold 8 78's

hilary - 05 Sep 2003 07:40 - 2029 of 23498

Jeff,

In a strong wind, even turkeys can fly. My target remains.

What will you spend the 16 on?
