if such a small cash call for a very limited period, why call at all, when clearly it will need to be heavily discounted? ...... should be able to do such a thing through normal banking channels unless the banks have also had enough

hewittalan6 - 22 Sep 2006 08:01 - 20179 of 27111

Thats the point. We do not know any details, just that there is a rumour of a cash call.
For all I know (or the FT for that matter), the rumour is totally wrong, and SEO are about to announce a solution to world peace or a cure for cancer!!!
Yes the cash position is perilous and it is almost certainly right, but we do not know!!

PATISEAR - 22 Sep 2006 08:18 - 20180 of 27111

The SP slumped 24% in one day. Should SEO release a RNS stating known/no known reason.

hlyeo98 - 22 Sep 2006 08:26 - 20181 of 27111

I think SEO is running out of cash soon...cash call will be next RNS

God, I think your powers of deduction are breathtakingly brilliant!!!!

Are you a member of MENSA?

Of course

pisces - 22 Sep 2006 08:45 - 20184 of 27111

Strange how the price suddenly dropped to 2p so quickly yesterday yet the millions of subsequent buys did not push the price any higher. Now in a trading range of 1.75p-2p, could this be the dilution price if any more shares are issued? What do you guys think.

hlyeo98 - 22 Sep 2006 08:45 - 20185 of 27111

But unfortunately it doesn't take a MENSA member to deduce this.

hewittalan6 - 22 Sep 2006 08:45 - 20186 of 27111

Forgive the length of the post, but I am trying to work this one out.
Over the last week or so, trading has been more buying than selling, yet the SP has drifted lower and lower.
Yesterday rumours of a cash call saw the sp plummet, but with buys outnumbering sells again!! This stinks of manipulation. But in favour of whom? A lower sp is of no use to someone getting rid of their holding, or of MM's building a holding, because they only hold very short term. it would only suit an invester building or an MM shorting, but if an MM was shorting, sells would outstrip buys.
If we assume the above to be correct, it would explain the rumours. Created to lower the SP and allow someone to stake build on the cheap, but if a cash call is coming then whoever is buying would be better to wait.
I simply cannot explain what has gone on for the last week in terms of normal market dynamics, and I am very concerned that something very wrong is afoot.
lost in a fog of logic here, so any suggestions appreciated.
Alan

I am interested in the letters of intent that SEO have confirmed are signed. If they can prove to the banks with a set of (believable) management accounts that future orders will be forthcoming and will make the company self financing then an additional line of credit- at a price - or even for shares may be the way forward. This would be in line with their statement that arrangements for future funding are well advanced.

I have just been told that my 40th party continues with a suprise weekend away of drunken debauchery and studied hedonism, so forgive me if I do not reply, Oily, but the fulfilling of carnal desires and the opportunity to get so drunk i am taken to bed in a wheelbarrow beats shares anyday!!
Will only be around till about 10am.
Have fun everyone.

I like most thought that at 8p, 6p and downward the worse was over.
No doubt several got out with good profits and best of luck to them.
We can speculate positions on sp 24/7 but it's not going to get us anywhere.
No one and I mean no one knows where this will finish. Sky high or bust.
We have posters in both camps.
At the moment although SEO have a fantastic portfolio of products, these products as we all know have to move.
I have now stopped watching this share checking a couple of times a day only, I now rely solely on alerts.

garyble - 22 Sep 2006 10:02 - 20192 of 27111

Does a US bank offer more favourable terms than a UK bank?

robinhood - 22 Sep 2006 10:30 - 20193 of 27111

Well i guess it is now blatantly obvious.... contracts to be signed next week or otherwise we've had it

soul traders - 22 Sep 2006 10:41 - 20194 of 27111

Patisear, such an RNS is not likely IMO. While I'm surprised how fast the drop has been in the last week or so, it was always on the cards for those of us who have been of a bearish inclination.

Garyble, ordinarily it might depend largely upon interest rates; in this case I think lenders would be demanding a risk premium.

Re the fundraising issue: given the current market shares are likely to be a no go; SEO's best bet if they are really about to sign contracts might be to try and squeeze out some kind of prepayment. Something still suggests to me that SEO might be hoping to wait with an announcement of fundraising until they have those contracts signed and can deliver an idea of how big they are, in the hope of producing a rise in the SP and therefore a wave of new confidence. Tell me if I'm being too imaginative . . . .

pinnacle - 22 Sep 2006 10:49 - 20195 of 27111

I have been given the impression today that finance is in place and an announcement will be made next week.

Placement more than a rights issue I think.

Betting than going bust - at this stage got to be thankful for small mercies.

pinnacle - 22 Sep 2006 10:52 - 20196 of 27111

Better than going bust I meant to say!!

I am in the industry and the interest in Stanelco products is amazing.

Once this funding is out the way - because they will only get it if the future can be believed-we can then relax and focus on our lives!!!!

Fred1new - 22 Sep 2006 10:57 - 20197 of 27111

Focussing on my life or H6's! What a life. Prefer to watch SEO it gives me a hope?
