Ten minutes of drone footage taken yesterday - of progress on the new port being built offshore at Karanja Creek, south of Mumbai, by Skil Ports & Logistics (SPL).

(if link fails, view it on the NEWS page at the company's website www.skilpl.com

Should become operational around the end of 2016 or start of 2017, by when I expect the share price to double from where it is now.

It has taken more than 5 YEARS for all the red tape hurdles to be overcome, during which the share price fell and fell. But things are now moving briskly. This port is desparately needed to help clear the logjam of ships hindering Indian imports and exports.

Good for you juzzle. :-))

i've said it before and i'll say it again .....
i think it's far too dangerous for all sorts of good reasons to buy shares in individual stocks in emerging markets

i don't think these markets can or should be ignored, but i'ld rather leave it to the so-called experts with specialist funds
for no particular reason, i chose JII.L to give me exposure to india

Juzzle - 17 Mar 2016 18:36 - 216 of 240

cynic - i understand that view. My portfolio is designed to allow one or two collapses without sinking my ship - and I am comfortable with the risk which i know exists with a stock such as SPL.

I too hold a stake in JII, and NII. Both small stakes. I have an India thread on which suggestions of ways to safely invest in its future development are welcome, alongside the less safe ways ;-)
