Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Max,
One shouldn't expect to have honest figures from a party of neo-fascists neocons.
They have falsifying economic figures, employment figures and immigrant figures for years.
But, I suppose you get what you wish or voted for.

My views if the exit vote wins. I feel Europe will fall into recession . Portugal along with Greece and Italy are heading for major problems in the next few months, With Germany the only power house left to bail them out. I see the public of Germany saying enough is enough. Massive pressure is bearing down on living standards.
The European banking system is carrying just too much debt. Most of the Eu countries
have nothing in place or indeed be able too afford to jack up their banks . They are too heavy in debt and will be unable to pay back loans.
There will be massive repercussions if Europe collapses by us leaving or collapsing still by recession with us still in. (take your choices, just how can it survive ?)
We will be affected by Eurozone troubles, with us in or out. You do not pick up new trade overnight. The stock markets will buckle.
What a mess. Most of the blame from me goes to Germany, a halt should of been called years ago.
A massive shock coming to our living standards, lets face it we are going to be a lot poorer than today.

I am of a similar opinion although I think it will play out slightly differently. I think it is ultimately a doomed experiment. They have gone for monetary union with the Euro before fiscal and political union. There is no overall controlling mechanism that can keep individual economies under control. That was evident in Greece where tax payment is optional.

It is alright boys, Osborne will blame any recessions on the World Economy, not his own incompetence.
Strange how phantasy economics are what suits your case.

Am I getting this right ?, the Scottish independents say that a new Scottish referendum is inevitable if the UK votes to opt out ! : so all those that want Scottish independence will vote to leave Europe perhaps, and then when we are out of Europe the Scots will have a referendum about remaining in the UK....and then when Scotland have left the UK : they will rejoin Europe and the Euro by the backdoor......have to admire Sturgeon and this what seems if not fishy: a dastardly cunning plan....not even Blackadder could have thought that one up !....

Scotland would have to renegotiate with Brussels, and Brussels would put the exact same conditions that Greece is going through..
Sturgeon was being questioned on the Sunday Politics, and when questioned on this subject, sturgeon got all evasive and rattled.

It was a good idea, I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

Do you mean Cameron?
Max.
Be careful what you seem to be wishing for.
A fragmented Europe and its consequences are about the last thing I would hope for
A collapse of the EU will leave minefields and might even rock NATO, which might please Putin no end.
USA wants out, other than for trade.
