there are forecasts for a potential flood of 5,000,000 immigrants from the above countries between 2014 and 2018 ..... difficult to know how much is good old-fashioned scaremongering and how much is proper and realistic prognosis ..... my guess tends heavily towards the former, but nevertheless cause for concern ......

income per head in the above countries is said to be about 20% of that in uk ....... spain, france and italy already have huge unemployment of their own and that will take a good number of years to turn around .... as it stands, and goodness knows how it can let alone will be stemmed or even controlled, the uk (+ germany and nl) will almost inevitably be the lucky recipients of swathes of this new and hungry labour force ..... oh goody goody!

apart from the more obvious potential effects, the great fear to me is that the seeds for a resurgence of hard-right nationalism could all too easily be sown and come to flourish

anyway, you can see i awoke far too early - found myself thinking of oxtail recipes for my local butcher/fishmonger!

ha! ha! ha! I am so pleased you have a sense of humour. I didn't mention ox tail I said Ox Heart - well I was astounded years ago, I was asked to do food for a surprise party and money was not plentiful or so they said, so I worked my socks off to cater for I would suggest 100 people at approx. £2 a head - I decided I could not do a wonderful Piece of Beef + other meats so I roasted an Ox Heart which was for nothing virtually then - did not think it would be eaten but wasn't too concerned as there were copious amounts of everything else. Alas, people were coming to me telling me how wonderful the beef was - what Beef??? I never even tasted it. Have a nice day now and wait in anticipation for the goose fat visit. In the mean time will take the antibiotics.

To add to culinary delights have you ever tried putting cow heel with stewing beef or with ox tail - a delightful dish. At least it takes our minds off what the hell Tanker will come out with next.

akin to using pigs trotters similarly .... it adds gelatine and richness to the sauce/gravy ..... there are various oxtail recipes, including one with white grapres (a delicious variation), but i was thinking more of what to do with the leftover gravy ..... a good base for soup or even stock for another beef casserole and also, if some oxtail meat is kept back, as a sauce to go with (flat) pasta of some kind

Correct. Any left overs of such are always worth freezing, a wonderful stock base. If only people would food shop correctly and cook instead of convenience foods families could be so better off. As they cannot be arsed then my feelings are:- why help. Amen. Now going for a rest.
