rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ
for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

FTSE seems disinclined to head back above 5,900 at the moment, though it's early days
DOW continues firmly south ......
prob slightly unsettled by what's going on in Europe, and perhaps even more unsettled by that maniac Trump's success in the nominations

short DOW 16,270
there was meant to a support at 16,275 on the way down but that didn't hold for long

that's unkind; DOW continuing its burst for glory (now 16,300)

took a 50 point loss on my DOW last night, but it could/would have been a lot worse
for all that, i still do not trust this sudden surge to have longevity
