Good morning
Bit of shopping to do today and I'm working tomorrow. Got to do some system checks from home at 2:00 am sunday, then again at 5:00am then in the office at 1:00pm for a couple of hours.

Still, I'm off to Cyprus next saturday

hilary - 06 Sep 2003 11:35 - 2039 of 23498

Morning Jeff. Will you be flashing the plastic in Bluewater today? Whereabouts in Cyprus are you going? We used to get the beach bungalows at the Hotel Nissi Beach just outside Ayia Napa before it got it's reputation. Now the kids are a bit older, I'd like to go back there. It's really lovely in September.

I'm a bit miffed at the moment. I ordered some new hardware at the start of the week from Dabs and took advantage of their buy now, pay in 12 months time offer. The finance was approved on-line instantaneously but they needed the forms to be printed out, signed and returned to them before releasing the goods. No problem, I thought I'd still have the goods ready for J to put onto the network this weekend. Some chance ...... they've still not received the forms so it'll have to wait another week now till J's prepared to do it for me.

:-(

Hi Hil
I'm sure you can get round him to do it sooner..

We are going to Paphos. Went to Protarus when the boys were younger but not been to Paphos before. Looking forward to it, as you say September is a good month to go. No kids and not too hot.

Have a good weekend

Socrates - 06 Sep 2003 11:49 - 2041 of 23498

Morning all. Just off out but will post later. Jeff, I've been to Paphos before it became too 'touristy'. Great place.

Socrates - 06 Sep 2003 14:10 - 2042 of 23498

Hilary
Sorry to see of your problem with Dabs. I'm afraid I follow the philosphy that cash is king. The only credit I have is my plastic which gets paid off as soon as I get the bill. There is a great deal of comfort to be gained from being able to say 'I don't owe anybody anything', although I know it is not the modern way.

Jeff
One thing I remember about Cyprus is being able to sit in the sun with a glass of wine watching the storms raging over the tops of the Troodos Mountains. Absolutely great.

I'm off work for this coming week. When I get back our network should all have been changed, new workstations, new servers and operating systems. It'll be impossible to find all my files and set my desktop up as it was, oh well, that's progress.

Just for now, it's feet up in the Cafe, glass of something fizzy and maybe doze off for a while.

jeffmack - 06 Sep 2003 15:32 - 2043 of 23498

Socs

The joys of system testing at 3:00am...

Socrates - 07 Sep 2003 10:08 - 2050 of 23498

OK, so what are they?

little willie - 07 Sep 2003 10:20 - 2051 of 23498

Socs...depends what you mean by "in"?
Don't play cricket anymore but then again, I was usually out.
"In" the wotsit?..... My normal state of affairs with mrs.lw, just the depth that varies..
"In" the Inn...very frequently but not so much the Cafe Inn.

Sad to say I spend much more time now back on the old channel which to be truthful I find quicker and slicker but I do miss the cafe banter.
Still look in here daily but will probably stop when freebie runs out.

I never did find out what happened on the other channel, how and why that cafe closed...Was it closed overnight so to speak?
I was incommunicado for a period of about six weeks when moving over here before we got a phone etc. and when we did everything had changed, luckily I had already got this channel registered so could continue but am a little dissapointed in the set-up.

Jeff..I tested my system at about the same time, working ok so went back to kip.

jeffmack - 07 Sep 2003 14:59 - 2052 of 23498

I've got a great view of the Chemical attack drill from my office

Two things spring to mind.
One, you shouldn't be in your office on a Sunday.
Two, if you are in your office you shouldn't be day dreaming looking out of your window, LOL.

I used to visit up there quite frequently, Gresham Street, is it still there or has it been recycled?
