THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Its all over, Boz.
I'm out of the top 200, Moneyplus has taken me from behind, so I'm now relaxed and enjoying a cigarette.

Don't worry Alan I expect by the time you've finished your ciggie--I'll have fallen back again if my actual shares are anything to go by!!

hewittalan6 - 02 Nov 2005 15:10 - 2041 of 81564

What a spanking day!!!!!
Good day at the office, portfolio up nearly 3%, fantastic business lunch and come back to be placed 70 in the investors league.
It can't last. Watch some b&*^^&$d go and spoil it for me!!!

Got your lottery ticket?

bosley - 02 Nov 2005 18:42 - 2043 of 81564

going down!!! 593.......i don't mind. hopefully , my ever-so-clever strategy of buying a mix of slow-steadies and potential jumpers will pay off!!!

hewittalan6 - 02 Nov 2005 18:56 - 2044 of 81564

Mines a blip, Boz. See you in the big numbers tomorrow. (Though I did finish at 41 today - so I will bask in my brief moment of glory before reality sets in and I end up nearly bankrupt)

This one's potentially green, bos

chocolat - 02 Nov 2005 19:04 - 2046 of 81564

I never go anywhere without these

chocolat - 02 Nov 2005 19:07 - 2047 of 81564

Hope it doesn't come to this though

hewittalan6 - 03 Nov 2005 08:45 - 2048 of 81564

Didn't need a lottery win, chocolat.
The look on Sir Alex Fergusons face was the perfect end to the day for me!!!

God, I am bored today.
Any fans of Ankh-Morpork, Lancre and Cori Celeste on here. (If you are, you'll know what I'm talking about).

bosley - 03 Nov 2005 11:52 - 2050 of 81564

into the 400s. one of my potential jumpers jumped 20%. (i think it was the green one, chocolat).

bosley - 03 Nov 2005 11:53 - 2051 of 81564

alan, i'm not and i've no idea what you're talking about........

hewittalan6 - 03 Nov 2005 12:10 - 2052 of 81564

Hi Boz,
The best tip I can give anyone is that the funniest series of books ever written are the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
Don't be put off by the idea that it is about magic and wizards and witches and things, it isn't. It is probably the most acute, wry observations of human mentality you could find.
If you enjoy reading, and never read anything else, read some of these. They are fantastic. Ask anyone whos ever read one!
Alan

hewittalan6 - 03 Nov 2005 12:12 - 2053 of 81564

By the way. Dropped to 70, so reality has finally noticed what I'm doing and come along to knacker it for me.

hewittalan6 - 03 Nov 2005 13:58 - 2054 of 81564

Boz,
Where is everybody???
It's another one of those strategic withdrawl kind of days for me.
Bye-bye top 100. Hello rampant obscurity!!
Alan

I am here Alan - been reading up on BPRG and sold my holding this morning at 39 - wish I had put this in my competition portfolio yesterday.

BPRG looking quite interesting at moment - I am not an analyst - I tend to trade on sentiment and what is happening in a company. BPRG looks like it could break out - but yesterdays sp hike looked over done. The ADVFN site is absolutely buzzing with excitment - over 1000 posts on BPRG alone yesterday - most of it bitter and aimed at SEO. Shame really - they have some good products - no need for the sniping.

Anyway - took my profit and ran and ploughed it into Chaco and SMC. Might get back into BPRG if it drops back down to 35 level - or pushes up above 40
