STORMCALLER - 06 Dec 2004 01:14 - 20371 of 23498

Evening all,
As is my habit a brief view of gone and coming. the week now departed was a mixed bag to say the least, but overall I will view it positively, as some serious work brought forth the desired results, so a glass of the legendary DP VIN '96 to wish it well!
I face the week to come in fear and trepidation, as I am scheduled to take delivery of some new kit, I would beg all those who count me as friend to clear the decks in advance of a barrage of requests for help!!!
In the worst case scenario, being of apocalyptic bent, this may be my last post, so of course, another glass of the legendary DP VIN '96 to wish you all well........be clever......and if you can't be clever.......be LUCKY!

Gotta Blow
Goodnight

SC

ps took bottle with me...:-)

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 10:50 - 20372 of 23498

Stormy - it was mixed indeed for most people I think, so I doubt
you are alone in feeling that way and yes, positive is the way to
view it - costs nothing, isn't difficult to do and tends to be much
more constructive then going the negative route.

So I'm the first one in today - place is nice and tidy....
I'll nab a chair by the fire - got a cold in me dose curtesy of an
overly generous youngest son - so I'll keep nice and warm and read
the papers.........

By the way if you haven't looked at the markets yet......may be
worth giving it until after lunch cos it's all a bit RED - like
me dose LOL!
;>)

jeffmack - 06 Dec 2004 11:48 - 20373 of 23498

Bunny
Sorry to hear about your dose

LOL

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 11:52 - 20374 of 23498

Thank you JeffMack - lousy cold, poor dose LOL
Off to have some lunch now - hope your day is going good
:>)

Golddog - 06 Dec 2004 12:14 - 20375 of 23498

That's a very early lunch Buns, i have just finished brekkie!

This_is_me - 06 Dec 2004 13:21 - 20376 of 23498

I am just back from tennis - didn't have time for breakfast. I'll just take whatever is quickest.

jj50 - 06 Dec 2004 13:23 - 20377 of 23498

Quickie coming up TIM, bunny sounds out of action today!

Bunny - Sorry about the cold, wrap up warm :-)

little willie - 06 Dec 2004 13:24 - 20378 of 23498

Blimey, Bunny gotta dose eh? that'll be myxie then and not the sort of dose that Jessie is more accustomed to.

Jess..has Chelt been & done? Wondering if you've blessed the boozer at Guiting Power with your presence.

Mrs lw was delivered to Cape Town airport at 6.15 am today as she's returned to Blighty for her annual extravaganza with her Clan [she's of Scottish descent] and they all come down out of the hills to have an early Christmas.
I'm unable to make it as I have to look after our Ragdoll cat [ oh yes and I had an important golf game today]. So as we speak she's on the mighty Virgin of the skies and will not return to these fair shores until the morning of Christmas Day!!
What am I going to do with myself???
Five dinner dates so far plus a carol concert that's what!!!!

Wonderful day here with nice breeze.

Jessie, next Sat there's a listed race at Kenilworth, I think its a group 1 and our trainer Glen Kotzen has a horse going thats expected to do well.

Beautiful nag called " Orange Alert",, should be a reasonable price, expected to win but look at the price and decide re each way...

This_is_me - 06 Dec 2004 13:52 - 20379 of 23498

Nearly had a disaster with our new (2 day old) microwave. I punched in 2 minutes and then remembered that it had a 'turbo' button which gives an extra 100w for a short time for fast reheating so I gave it a prod. It then asked for a time so, thinking it had cancelled the first 2 minutes, I gave the minute button a couple of prods. If it hadn't beeped after 2 minutes as it started on another 2 minutes there could have been a right mess.

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 15:43 - 20380 of 23498

Back again - dozed off in the chair, lousy cold - nice hot
cup of tea for me. Hello T-I-M and JJ and LW!!! Oh and I missed
Poochy-poos never mind, will catch him another day.

optomistic - 06 Dec 2004 15:53 - 20381 of 23498

Afternoon All, quick visit, not even time for tea..sorting out MOT, slight problem :-(
Heck someone look after Bunny, she sounds most unwell.

Priscilla - 06 Dec 2004 15:57 - 20382 of 23498

Fresh pot of tea and cucumber sandwiches now available on the bar.

Bunny, I took the crusts off the bread, the skin off the cucumber and used fresh white bread, so nothing to chew, make a noise or aggravate your throat....

Also, there's a bottle of whisky next to the teapot to add a bit of punch to your tea. Hope y ou feel better soon.

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 16:00 - 20383 of 23498

Oh heck Opto that sounds ominious - the word MOT strikes a cord
of fear in anyone who's ever owed a car or for that matter ever
had a spouse or child who owned a car! LOL
Hope you can get it sorted :>)

I'm ok it's the usual pain-in-the-keester bog standard cold,
totally annoying but on a scale of one to ten no biggie really,
one of those "I need Mentho-diptus" and a box of tissues jobs,
couple of days and I'll be fine :>)

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 16:02 - 20384 of 23498

Much thanks Priscilla - I shall of course return the favour
when you get a cold, which could be quicker then you think unless
you give me a very wide berth - germ exclusion zone!

jj50 - 06 Dec 2004 16:13 - 20385 of 23498

Lorry delivery mentho diptus - make way......

Hankies to follow :-)

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 16:16 - 20386 of 23498

LOL JJ! How's your day going? :>)

amberjane - 06 Dec 2004 16:19 - 20387 of 23498

I've survived!

Bunny, must have been all that extra work you helped me with, have a rest now and you'll be pleased to know everything went to well, so well i kept waiting for something to go wrong! Fish starter, stuffing and my liqueur apricots/bacon thingies were success of the day, thanks Hils to. The raspberry (& banana!) sherry trifle disappeared in moments, all that time! The only thing, and it was small, was the gravy, as i went to sit down the jug was empty and there was no way, not way after all that that i wasnt having any so dashed back to kitchen and rustled up another jug. Even all the 5 veg were all fresh, took 5 hours to peel/scrub them all. Oh and drowned the sausages in honey to. Seriously all the food was fine it was in fact the bloody plates etc that i ran out of. Choice of two starters and 3 puds, devastated every cupboard of everything and sunday was one hell of a clear up day. all stayed till 2.00 in the morning...Now i dont have to worry about Christmas, it's all over!!!

This_is_me - 06 Dec 2004 16:19 - 20388 of 23498

My MOT is on Sat. I had to pay out 557 last week: service, replace timing belt, two tyres, brake pads, two brake cylinders, water pump etc. At least I am not feeling too poor thanks to SBT!

Spaceman - 06 Dec 2004 16:22 - 20389 of 23498

Evening all, just popped in after a day in Koln, bought a few Cds but nothing else. Back home tomorrow and up to Norfolk for a couple of days.

Lambykins sends his love, he was pleased that he didn have to travel over in the hold, he was very scared of the Tigers, problem is he ins now starting to worry that there might be Lions in the hold on the return flight.

stockbunny - 06 Dec 2004 16:23 - 20390 of 23498

Good to know it went well Amber and I hope you got chance to enjoy
yourself and your meal too - it's too easy to end up constantly in
the kitchen or back and forth from it! Good for you - well done!!!
Mind you if you've done it that well, you do know that everyone may
decide to come to you every year now.... ;>)
