Story of my life kim - cynic never arrived with the goose potion and the guy got 12 months - he had already done 7 years for armed robbery which of course I did not know about. He was sentenced during his absence - could not be found, law of the land not.

uk woman (to be?) jailed in dubai for having sex in back of taxi
i heard this story (again) this morning, and something tells me she isn't telling the whole truth.
everyone who goes to m/e should be well aware that certain things, even kissing in public, is unacceptable ...... in this instance, it would seem that she and her "pick up" had got pretty rat-arsed - seen it all too often at Friday Brunch - and then had a major argument with the taxi driver.
taxi driver alleged they were having sex in the back of his cab, and thus the story unfolds.
this woman has never said why the argument in the first place .... my experience there (i go 3-4 times a year) is that none of the taxi drivers are unpleasant, and more to the point, every single one of them is a foreign worker .... as such, he will be very afraid of losing his work permit and being sent home.

like i said, something doesn't ring entirely true with her story.

your sweeping generalisation is almost certainly inaccurate as is much of your spew ....

however, i certainly get the feeling that a lot of teachers refuse to turn up from however close they live, purely because there is a good excuse not to - e.g. let's use the blanket fail-safe h+s excuse

as you say, nearly all those illegal immigrants who man our hospitals seem to make the effort to turn up - as does our postman and our own staff

if it was left to teachers they would shut down the country has long as it does not affect them .
