So far good day: Managed a good short on the dow. then a long and am just watching now.
Closed along on the cable earlier after tearing my hair out yesterday and got out today with a 30pip profit in that trade.

Had a good day today with 129 point gain on dow with a mix of shorts and longs. Waiting to after 7.30pm we will see a further sell off.

currently short dow. Will see if it tanks till close or will hold it with a wide stop.
Time will tell, and if it goes against me will have scars to prove that I had been in the fray.

Wonder what the dow is going to do to us today.
Imho i think we will see higher prices in the beginning of session and then from 16.30 to 19.00 will be not going anywhere but sideways and then hopefully a sell off in the last two hours but more so near the last hour with a spike up around 20.30gmt.
But then again it can do anything and still be right.The best strategy in my opinion is to short the mini rallies -remember the old adage "the trend is your friend till the end until the bend" so dont go to bottom picking as u will end up with smelly fingers!!!!!!

Hi Zarif & Orky

Have been trading/learning the dow for the past couple of months and have followed your excellent posts with great interest.

Had a reasonable June due to trading in a rough range between 10300 & 10400, but can't seem to get my head around spotting a short trend. Therefore, have been sitting around in July with my money firmly on the sideline waiting to come in and play.

Can I ask you two questions:
~ Do you have any basic tips or strategies which you feel I should adopt &
~ How low do you think the dow can tumble?

What does everybody think at the opening of the dow. It seems primed to me to go up in the first few hours of trade

Orky I feel they will try to push prices higher but it will be short lived.I would day it is safer to short the mini rallies that it produces.

Ig index site is down so am using the capital spreads one.What a piece of bother sometimes malkes u wonder if its deliberate as at the end of the day they are kind of Bookies and will use any trick in the book to be qualified as "crooks" I think we should name some market days as "crooksdays" when it is blatantly obvious whats going on.

Where is everybody today? All the threads are quiet -just going to nip in Gds Cafe and cause a bit of Havoc.

The support at 9915 held very well and gave a good bounce.But i didnot take the trade.I have shorted it from the top again and am watching now to see if it retests the 9915.And this time if holds may just take a small scalp long.
Thats the plan lets see if it pans out.
