Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Ian. Just lost Moneyam completely - every window closed. But just got back immediately via Internet Explorer. Never happened before.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 May 2004 11:03 - 2050 of 7315

Maggot,

There is no way (that I know of) that MoneyAM could close down all of your browsers windows.

What were you doing at the time?

J.

If all your browsers closed at the same time it probably indicates that one window crashed and took all of the others with it. This happens if the windows had been created with ctrl-N since they are all part of the same instance of IE. To avoid the problem you can create windows from the IE icon or from a link each time, which will create separate instances and you will be more resistant to crashes. This does use up more resources though and you will have to log in on every window.

Moneyam - something I've been meaning to raise for ages. Why on some days will News refresh without problems but on others I get a page expired then another message to resend - very irritating. Same thing also happens when I read a News article and then use Back. Any ideas?

kernow - 07 May 2004 16:26 - 2053 of 7315

MoneyAM - is there anybody there?

Maggot - 07 May 2004 20:55 - 2054 of 7315

Kayak. Thanks. My windows were indeed created from each other, and not separately via IE. I assume, from what you say, that possibly one window crashed and took the rest, but I've never had that before. I suspect it was IE that went down for a split second. GNI and cmc were unnafected. I will have to ask my computer guy about it - I know nothing about computers - an abacus is about my limit.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 May 2004 20:57 - 2055 of 7315

kernow,

sorry I didnt reply sooner, things have been rather hectic today and I didnt get a chance to read much of the boards.

have you been having this problem over the last couple of days?

Kayak,
There is a fix I can put in to stop the logging in on each different window, however it requires (for some unknown reason) that all MoneyAM cookies get deleted first, else it cant store the new one for some reason (only seen it on IE) As such it isnt really feasible to put in.

:(

Don't worry Jon, I don't have a problem with it, what's a return key between friends.

If you could make it so that when you refresh a chart that has in the mean time had the login timeout, after logging in again you go back to the chart that was displayed rather than the default chart, now that would be useful :-)

kernow - 10 May 2004 07:17 - 2057 of 7315

TullettJ - no this has been an irritant for many weeks but not all the time. No pattern I can discern.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 May 2004 07:19 - 2058 of 7315

kernow,

Thanks for letting us know - I will pass this onto Jonathan.

Ian

Haystack - 11 May 2004 14:09 - 2061 of 7315

There was an RNS statment at 7:00am this morning on DDD whcih has not appeared on MoneyAm. It is on ADVFN: -

RNS Number:5131Y
DDD Group PLC
11 May 2004

IanT(MoneyAM) - 11 May 2004 14:12 - 2062 of 7315

Haystack,

There are different levels of subscription to RNS that can be taken out so this may be why the story does not appear. I will however check it our with our supplier.

Regards

Ian

Haystack - 11 May 2004 14:17 - 2063 of 7315

Thanks

Haystack - 11 May 2004 15:24 - 2064 of 7315

IanT
Do you mean different levels for users or for MoneyAm et al.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 11 May 2004 15:27 - 2065 of 7315

For MoneyAM - not for different users.

Ian

Haystack - 11 May 2004 15:34 - 2066 of 7315

OK

Bullshare - 11 May 2004 15:47 - 2067 of 7315

Haystack:Looks like it s was carried by the PR newswire service (PR announcement)of RNS which our provider did not carry.

Haystack - 11 May 2004 21:12 - 2068 of 7315

Ok. Thanks. This news business is a strange beast.
