THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Hi Boz,
The best tip I can give anyone is that the funniest series of books ever written are the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
Don't be put off by the idea that it is about magic and wizards and witches and things, it isn't. It is probably the most acute, wry observations of human mentality you could find.
If you enjoy reading, and never read anything else, read some of these. They are fantastic. Ask anyone whos ever read one!

By the way. Dropped to 70, so reality has finally noticed what I'm doing and come along to knacker it for me.

Boz,
Where is everybody???
It's another one of those strategic withdrawl kind of days for me.
Bye-bye top 100. Hello rampant obscurity!!

I am here Alan - been reading up on BPRG and sold my holding this morning at 39 - wish I had put this in my competition portfolio yesterday.

BPRG looking quite interesting at moment - I am not an analyst - I tend to trade on sentiment and what is happening in a company. BPRG looks like it could break out - but yesterdays sp hike looked over done. The ADVFN site is absolutely buzzing with excitment - over 1000 posts on BPRG alone yesterday - most of it bitter and aimed at SEO. Shame really - they have some good products - no need for the sniping.

Anyway - took my profit and ran and ploughed it into Chaco and SMC. Might get back into BPRG if it drops back down to 35 level - or pushes up above 40

Hi Baza,
That was in my champ inv portfolio yesterday! It was one of the ones that propelled me to glory!!!! I have kept hold though, because, as in real life, the spread and dealing costs mean that it seems to make more sense to hold if you're confident rather than trade and try and time it right.
The only share I have actively traded in the CI game has been BGY, but I have held that as a real share since just before the suspension, and its movements are very predictable for anyone who has watched it for a while.
Anyway, back to losing a fortune, and honestly, if you read, try those books I mentioned.

PSST.
By the way, Baza. My pet share (the first one I ever bought, so I am emotionally attatched to it) has been the subject of my scrutiny today. In digging around I was astonished to find it was currently trading on a P/E ratio of 3.5, and pays a dividend of over 3%!!
Its not the whole story but those prices seem very cheap to me.

Morning all,
Thought for today.
Why is "abbreviation" such a long word?
Alan

hewittalan6 - 04 Nov 2005 08:00 - 2067 of 81564

Speaking of long words, can anyone name 2 actors whose names contain 8 syllables?

bhunt1910 - 04 Nov 2005 08:51 - 2068 of 81564
