David Anderson (CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May :I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

May 25th is my birthday. It was Martini who, two years ago, got it into his head to give croc a call, having not spoken to him for a few days. He phoned croc and learned the awful news. I got a call shortly after from M, and remember thinking 'he's remembered my birthday' before he broke the sad news. I remember the initial denial and then the cloud that came down over my 41st.

We miss you croc. Who's snapping at the bots now?

mg

me too hence i'm looking on the bb for his thread...

He and I were great fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He created a thread when she died after series 5. Just wish I'd had the magics like Willow to bring him back like she did for Buffy.

I often am thinking about croc although I only met him a couple of times in the flesh. One thought occurred to me the other day was about the sudden epilepsy he developed while in Nice. Was that misdiagnosed and his illness not epilepsy at all, but a symptom of the brain problem that eventually killed him?

Anyway my thoughts are with you today croc

My trading has really gone downhill since Croc's death - psychological, probably, but he was so helpful and his early-morning comments gave me a real start each day. The only glimmer of good since then is that I was able to meet Mike, Gausie, Martini, axdpc and a few others at Croc's funeral. Good to be able to put a face to the name, Gausie!

Not trading today - don't feel like it.

Thanks for bringing this thread up Spaceman. Three years on Crocodile continues to be very much of an inspiration and motivation personally.
