THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Fred that article I was on about...............

David Cameron tells porkies about Britain’s national debt - @frasernelson on @Spectator_CH http://specc.ie/VXi6Rt

goldfinger - 24 Jan 2013 18:40 - 20686 of 81564

Even ultra right winger Tom Winnifroth commented today on twitter about how misleading Cameron has been.

Fred1new - 24 Jan 2013 18:53 - 20687 of 81564

GF.

Thanks.

I will look at it.

Fred1new - 24 Jan 2013 19:06 - 20688 of 81564

GF.

Supports what I have thought for last 18 months.

I am as stated before a political atheist, but the government is in mind the biggest bunch if self interested lying and incompetent "fellows" I have witnessed in 60 years of being observational and interested in politics.

Government is complicated and b. difficult but as is obvious to Europeans Cameron's stances are those of self interest and not that of the whole of Europe. The same is becoming more and more obvious to the electorate of this country.

Self interest is a necessary "evil", but the strength of all is related to the strength of the weakest and is sensible to recognise this.

It will take a long time to reverse the previous governmental spending policies, especially that of a Labour government which did nothing but spend from the moment it came into power until the moment the voters had seen enough. Doubling the national debt in what was mostly a period of prosperity, quite an achievement.

I see Milliband was left floundering in the wake of Cameron's speech when he declared Labour's definite position on a referendum. Definite until the spin doctors reversed his categorical statement. U turns?

Political aetheist? You're as red as the red on that National Debt chart, you couldn't vote anything but Labour if your life depended on it

Fred1new - 24 Jan 2013 20:15 - 20691 of 81564

Chuckles,

Never voted Labour.

cynic - 24 Jan 2013 20:25 - 20692 of 81564

you evade the question ..... at the very least, confirm that you did indeed vote at the last general election, if not giving the party - and what about local elections?

Fred1new - 24 Jan 2013 20:27 - 20693 of 81564

I didn't vote.

Just for your information:-

FY 2009 $0.62 trillion
FY 2008 $0.53 trillion

dreamcatcher - 24 Jan 2013 20:43 - 20694 of 81564

Fred what I will say is its a laugh how you are so quick to comment on the subject of Britain paying down its debt. When I have posted the debt run up by the Labour party
1. Either you did not have your glasses on
2. You ignored it
3. It does not matter what someone says about the Labour party as you are not going to listen anyway

Unlike you I will say that of David Cameron to state Britains debt is being payed off was wrong to say. It just goes to show with all the cut backs (I could say left from the over spend Labour party but I will not) the debt is still growing. Not going to get into Labour would of done this or that. I do know you cannot create jobs with the WORLD economy as it is,. Look at Spains unemployed for instance.

Now its time the British public took more interest in their country. By just sitting down on a Sunday morning and watching the Andrew Marr programme or indeed read a newspaper they would learn a lot. The debt rising I have known for months as said I take an interest. (The country is being cut to the bone, what more can they do) Please do not go on about the cons and how they waste money as I could go on all day how much the Labour party put on the credit card to try and win the election.
I do not expect you to even agree Fred because as far as Labour are concerned I do not feel you are balanced. As you can see I have said DC was wrong to say what he did, but to this day have never seen You say that of Labour. You may laugh but just think.

Fred1new - 24 Jan 2013 20:51 - 20695 of 81564

Chuckles,

As you seem to believe in fairies:-

This must have been written by Dave and George:
Government Debt Help has been put in place by introducing and approving various Schemes
"Read below to discover your legal rights debt relief
You should not be attempting to make debt payments you cannot comfortably afford

The Government has ensured that help is available for people struggling to make debt repayments. Government legislation is in place to help anyone who is finding it difficult to meet their monthly debt repayments."

cynic - 24 Jan 2013 21:05 - 20696 of 81564

in that case fred, you have no right whatsoever to grizzle about what ANY gov't does or does not do .... in my view, failing to vote is completely unacceptable and you lose any credibility you just may have had

i thoroughly agree with the australian legal requirement to vote .... spot on!
