There have been other ideas of forming democratic governments based on representation of the different groups within society.

(There were weres attempts to introduce such in central Europe in the 30s. I will try and remember what my father-in-law told me about the political intrigues of that period.)

The only problem is that when you get more than one person in a group you tend to get grouping and hence you are on the political down path to party affiliation for future fabours.

However, much as we try to deceive ourselves, we tend to end up being self serving in one way or another.

I just wish sometimes it wasn't so bloody obvious.

Its almost as if the economy cannot run with Labours thinking or the Conservatives or even sort of half and half.

Even if my vote was as powerful as in your deluded minds seem to think it is, I doubt that in the constituency I reside, that it would influence the outcome in any election.

Also, not voting represents my opinion of the various candidates of the different parties who stand in my area for election.

I hope that you will permit me my entitlement.

Also, it has reference to the policies they stand on and the likely hood of them keeping their promises. (Like the chances with the present coalition, pretty remote.)

Being able to vote, or not to, is the prerogative of those living in the majority of democracies and would be fundamental, in my view, to the state being called a democracy.

Of course, your version of a democracy may only permit me to vote for those of similar opinions to yourself.


As far my family is concerned, I suspect that they have done more for society that you are likely to have done by the end of your existence and certainly are not presumptuous to form opinions on such scant knowledge as you have.

Also, they are interest in politics and international affairs, although they are disillusioned by the "mob" leading this country at the moment.

Of course, you are entitled to be as opinionated as you wish and have the freedom to express yourself in the manner that think befits you. That of course applies to Cynic and Kid Carson.
