THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

me tea time. lol

chuckles - 25 Jan 2013 19:54 - 20729 of 81564

never voted labour.

As Chris Carson states, that is unlikely although he used a stronger term.

As you didn't vote in the last election you gave up your right to complain about the current govt. I can only guess your long suffering, benefit scrounging family have banned you from moaning about politics because you get on their nerves. Unfortunately you spend all your time on here, moaning about politics and getting on our nerves.

cynic - 25 Jan 2013 20:08 - 20730 of 81564

chuckles - i assume you are talking about fred, and if so, i agree with you 150% .... if you can't be bothered to vote - a mainstay of democracy - then you have given up all rights to complain about anything that any gov't does

doodlebug4 - 25 Jan 2013 20:46 - 20731 of 81564

A lot of utter rubbish being talked on this thread, but I do agree that if you don't bother to vote then you lose the right to complain when it all goes pear-shaped. And Cameron is still a complete novice at lying when compared to Blair.

Chuckles and Cynic,

You both often write an awful lot of bull shit!

Even if my vote was as powerful as in your deluded minds seem to think it is, I doubt that in the constituency I reside, that it would influence the outcome in any election.

Also, not voting represents my opinion of the various candidates of the different parties who stand in my area for election.

I hope that you will permit me my entitlement.

Also, it has reference to the policies they stand on and the likely hood of them keeping their promises. (Like the chances with the present coalition, pretty remote.)

Being able to vote, or not to, is the prerogative of those living in the majority of democracies and would be fundamental, in my view, to the state being called a democracy.

Of course, your version of a democracy may only permit me to vote for those of similar opinions to yourself.

As far my family is concerned, I suspect that they have done more for society that you are likely to have done by the end of your existence and certainly are not presumptuous to form opinions on such scant knowledge as you have.

Also, they are interest in politics and international affairs, although they are disillusioned by the "mob" leading this country at the moment.

Of course, you are entitled to be as opinionated as you wish and have the freedom to express yourself in the manner that think befits you. That of course applies to Cynic and Kid Carson.

If you don't like my postings, feel free to use the squelch button.

=====

By the way, if you are, as would seem to me, to be a tory adherent, do congratulate yourself on having the present leadership, who are likely to provide the UK with a triple dip recession and alienate many in Europe who were once friends of this country.

Have a good weekend and may it last.

Fred - at least we take the trouble to vote .... if you don't like the present bunch, then it behoves you even more to vote for another lot of whatever hue takes your fancy instead of just crying as you do, "mummy, mummy - this goverment's really beastly and should never have been allowed into power" .....

as for bullshit, you are the past master of it ....
and as for "more for society than you"; may you choke on your own unbelievable arrogance and presumption .....

as i have said before, as a non-voter, you have de facto thrown away all rights to complain or gripe about any political party or their decisions or efforts, however wrong-headed they may seem at the time or even ultimately be so with hindsight - or even not so with hindsight.

finally, i have never allowed anyone here to bully me into squelching them, and assuredly you will not be the first.

Chris Carson - 25 Jan 2013 21:40 - 20735 of 81564

Ahh Kid Carson eh Freddie Boy, remind me did you not squelch me a number of years ago? You know, along with umpteen other posters who had the gall to take the pxss out of your incessant ramblings (shixe) all things Brown and New Labour. Sadly you can fool some of the people some of the time etc, seem to be doing a good job on dreamcatcher judging by the above posts but have no fear he will suss you out eventually. No doubt cynic and chuckles if they carry on will be next on the old squelchy step :O)

Please remember my posts bear no malice, pity perhaps, but all done in the best possible taste. Have a nice weekend xxx

dreamcatcher - 25 Jan 2013 21:43 - 20736 of 81564

You begin to get a bit sick of moan, moan, moan. I thought investing was meant to be enjoyable. Jesus

cynic - 25 Jan 2013 21:45 - 20737 of 81564

CC - read above! .... by the way, what is "shixe"? .... it sounds like bad phonetics for the yiddish "shiksa" .... that word technically means a gentile girl, but in fact is much more pejorative and indeed rather nasty

dreamcatcher - 25 Jan 2013 21:48 - 20738 of 81564

Anyone else getting a problem with charts. ie there is non. lol

Chris Carson - 25 Jan 2013 21:56 - 20739 of 81564

Sorry cynic I was being polite (rare I know) shite :O)

cynic - 25 Jan 2013 21:57 - 20740 of 81564

merely puzzled, that was all

goldfinger - 25 Jan 2013 22:16 - 20741 of 81564

Yep here. Red xs on all of them and I was just about to update chart attack thread.

DC investing enjoyable your post above? lol. Blimey you should read the book i am now reading......... TRADING WITH CROWD PSYCHOLOGY.....Carl Gyllenram

Gives examples of human reactions to entering trades bad trades etc etc and how ones stomach and nerves turn over. I remember them feelings when I first started many moons ago.......these days I dont give a s--t and just move on but make a mental note of what I did wrong.

Sums up the envoirement which prevails across the road at Cockneys Den and Pauly Pilots Pub to a T, brilliant analysis.

Very good read I recommend it.

dreamcatcher - 25 Jan 2013 22:22 - 20742 of 81564

Been using Big Charts instead for research.

cynic - 26 Jan 2013 09:21 - 20747 of 81564

getting back to renegotiating the treaty with EU ......

i find it very interesting that even germany is supporting the idea of a robust debate on this very serious issue.

whereas the likes of germany, france and others are unable for both psychological and political reasons, to be critical of the treaty as it stands, the uk, because of its long history of vocal dissent, can easily take up that cudgel ...... this then gives the other countries an excuse to bow to at least some of the uk demands, using the excuse of "reluctant, but in the interests of continued unity"

when it comes to a referendum - let's hope the question is put sensibly for once! - i suspect that if there are no concessions at all, then i shall vote "out", though the arguments at the time may lead me to vote differently

the "great unwashed" will almost certainly vote "out" but without having really thought it all through ..... as my late father-in-law said back in 1973, "they're only interested in what will happen to the price of butter"
