rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

2% bounce this morning. I have a feeling this is just a suckers rally. Some people seem to be taking the opportunity of doubling up their short positions.

Cut my short yesterday on Dow. No trades runnıng.

i've been lucky with some very small index longs, but am now thinking this sharp rally may have about run its course

struggling to break 9600 and hold, so tomorrow may be a day to short it

Ex-divi day tomorrow plus US unemployment claims figure. Otherwise not too much in the pipeline to worry about. However the bottom fishers over the last few days must be thinking time to take profits soon? Who knows, we are in uncertain times, but have put limit sells on my profitable stocks which will hopefully trigger before everyone else's do!

Independence Day Monday ın USA.

Mıght see some taken off the table ınto Frıday. Who knows.

Plus yours truly's weddıng Annıverary. Cant forget that date easıly. Wıll have to take Mrs CD out of the Den for a few hours at least.

Doesn't Mrs CD understand the Uk - Euro crisis at the moment. It's a time of uncertainty..a bit like your ability to pay for a night out...you could give that a try! ;o)

Dow moves up agaın. No posıtıons currently.

Short FTSE today but not much happening , anyone else surprised at the strength ?

as mentioned b4, FTSE is o'weight with big comoanies with o'seas earnings
thus the likes of BATS and IMB and even RDSB become beneficiaries of weak £

meanwhile FTSE 250 has dumped another 2.37% (nearly 400 points) which is a better indicator

Good point re weak pound , i have played the DAX however it moves quite viciously at times.

it does indeed but my stakes are small

keep an eye on the DOW this evening
it has just dropped through 17,800 so the key 17,750 supposed support is not far away

And still we motor on ,i'm surprised ,doesn't look like the world is worried about Brexit.

very interesting ....... limited out during the night at 17,755, from which point it recovered quite sharply bus now falling back towards it

now fallen through the important 9,440 support
short still running there and may add to it

still holding above 6,500 but without much conviction as all other indices plot against it
