Football, What chances !, World Cup, Euro, Clubs, for all : home and away ! (FC)

required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

I also think that Rooney will go.....Barca will have to fork out 60 or 70 million but they can afford it....end of this season or probably the next one....

hilary - 22 Oct 2010 17:34 - 209 of 6918

Barcelona are skint. They can't afford Cesc Fabregas, so how do you reckon they'll be able to afford Wazza?

Coupled with that, I think I'm right in saying that, since the start of this year, foreigners working in Spain now have to pay 43% tax rather than 24% for the first 5 years as has happened previously. Where's the incentive in English players going there any more?

Joe Say - 22 Oct 2010 18:33 - 210 of 6918

maybe the incentive is the 7% saving on uk rates

hilary - 22 Oct 2010 20:00 - 211 of 6918

Well the saving is actually 14%. But compared to the previous saving of 52%, it's definitely not as attractive as it used to be.

In a way, I think it could be good for the Premier League. There's a lot of South American starlets who may have previously started their foray into European football in Spain because of the tax attraction and the language situation. Now there's nothing to say they won't come to England and they could easily blend into most of the top clubs.

Hope they are better than the average because to me a lot of them are not impressive at all.

re - Barcelona are skint. They can't afford Cesc Fabregas

Are you back with the trousers on? it is a waste of time, you are better with the skirt on, though there are a few large hairs coming out of funny places.

Cesc Fabregas is not only catalan but was trained from the Barcelona academy, they were interested on him this summer, but only paying resonable prices not the 40/50M they were asking for.

Just let you enlighten you, Barcelona is the only major CLUB with no paying advertising on the their shirt, but advertising for UNICEF for free and on top donate at least 1.5 million per year to UNICEF since 2006.

About time you stop advertising yourself in Camberwell Green, you know what for.

Gunners performing well....come on them....time to win that coveted Champions league trophy....Still think that Rooney will join Barca in a couple of seasons.....it would be a fabulous experience for him and his family.....the kids will learn spanish at early age...and will speak it for the rest of their lives plus a little bit of catalan.....so Fabregas next season and Rooney the following one for the spanish giants...
Fabregas, Villa, Messi, Rooney...mouthwatering attack non ....?
Hernandez is going to turn into one of the best players in the world....

dealerdear - 26 Oct 2010 11:49 - 217 of 6918

Glasgow Rangers only drawing....unheard of !.....this season anyway....it does not look like Liverpool will be relegated and it does not look like they will get into Europe either for next season......

required field - 02 Nov 2010 16:55 - 221 of 6918

Put a bet on ManU away...and....a risky one on Spurs at home tonight...I reckon Inter will be rattled tonight and could lose this one....

Liverpool and Spurs perking up....done the double over the Italians....

Chris Carson - 05 Nov 2010 12:41 - 223 of 6918

Spurs were fabulous! Liverpool rescued again by Stevie G, back to reality this weekend though against Chelsea, but will give him the opportunity to get to know his new team mates come January :O)

required field - 05 Nov 2010 12:43 - 224 of 6918

Can't see Gerrard joining the Chelsea boys....

hilary - 05 Nov 2010 12:50 - 225 of 6918

Chelsea have got Josh McEachran. Why on earth would they want Gerrard?

Chris Carson - 05 Nov 2010 13:15 - 226 of 6918

So far during his time at Liverpool (Age 30) he has won 10 trophys:-

FA Cup (twice)
League Cup (twice)
FA Community Shield (Twice)
UEFA Champions League (Once)
UEFA Cup (Once)
UEFA Super Cup (Twice)

One trophy is missing to complete the set. English Premier League, can you honestly see him waiting for Liverpool to rebuild? Unlikely he would join United, Arsenal. A big If I know Hils, but if Chelski did show an interest the odds are that missing trophy would be in the bag at the end of the season.

required field - 05 Nov 2010 13:17 - 227 of 6918

Pardon my ignorance...who is Josh McEachran.....sounds like a horse trainer or a gardener....
