thankyou geoff for taking the time to respond. i think it's obvious quite a few don't read shares mag. if they did then they would know each individual writer expresses his/her opinion in their articles and , being human, the opinions can differ. one writer may think seo is worth a punt, other writers think it's a dog. no different to any bb really so why all the fuss from everyone?

andysmith - 05 Oct 2006 21:55 - 20900 of 27111

pisces, glad to see that you either protected some profits or limited any losses. When I made my comments they were based solely on slow progress and lack of take-up by the packers. Retailers have some powers but at the end of the day they cannot force packers to sign up to new technology without proven benefits. My other concern at the time was that SEO seemed to have too many fingers in too many pies and with little real representation in the packaging world & a high cashburn with little return then the longer the delays the less believable the investment community would find the endless RNS's of "close to deals and more trials". Hindsight is wonderful, (I'd have sold at 30p and not 21p for a start) and SEO will consider that they would have been better proving the technology commercially before setting what has turned out to be ridiculous expectations and RNS's about potential deals with Walmart and squads of engineers all ready to Greenseal everything in sight did not help. What a rollercoaster ride, so many people were lucky enough to make a lot of money on the way up and those brave enough to short on the way back down but many investors choosing to ignore the situation have lost alot of money. I think that the management have a lot of explaining to do about their RNS's and notes to brokers but remember Howard White is likely to lose a lot of money as well if they go bust. They might survive but it will be a long way back if they do and they will need a change of management to take their technologies forward and more importantly because nobody believes a word anymore, even the most avid of pro-SEO supporters still occupying this thread appear to be utterly brassed off. The potential was there and still is with Starpol but what a fuck up. Best of Luck to anyone still holding these,

also in shares mag today is an article titled, " how to stage a shareholder revolt". it might be worth knowing this for future reference.

Hi Bosley - I thought it was talking specifically about SEO - I know it did not mention the company by name - but it might as well have !!

bosley - 05 Oct 2006 23:43 - 20903 of 27111

hiya baza. funnily enough i was thinking the same thing ... almost as if they were preparing the ground so that they could be the investor's champion yet again ;) good article though and it shows that the pi can make the board sit up and listen if it's done correctly.

GeoffHo - 06 Oct 2006 01:49 - 20904 of 27111

Woodie - I'm inclined to agree with you. Calling people dumb was not in the best taste, but given how I think a team of drunken penguins could have run this company better than its existing management, I think giving said humans more money to burn would be rather silly.

About the line about management being either incompetent or much, much worse, perhaps I should have said that I think they are about as bright as a solar powered torch in a cave.

For the record folks, I have no feelings to hurt - when you've followed Man Utd for 23 years and endured the horror of watching the likes of Clayton Blackmore in the red shirt, criticism is like water off a duck's back. I am just genuinely perplexed as to why so many people believe in this company and take offence at the slightest criticism.

PS: If the shares recover and the company actually starts to turn promises into reality I'll eat my collection of every major league baseball team caps. Somehow I just can't see myself getting THAT much fibre in my diet.

Oblomov, Aldwickk.

Like you I take the post from Geoff Hoe! with a large pinch of salt.
Eagerly awaiting a reply from the E Mail sent to MAM by Aldwickk.
I am sure Geoff would agree, that we should take no one at face value until we get to know their agenda (if they have one) through reading their history of posts.
It is only then that that pinch of salt gets a lot smaller.

bhunt1910 - 06 Oct 2006 07:32 - 20906 of 27111

Ah well - no news is not good news in my book.

We should have seen an rns this morning (in my view) to announce the money deal and new contracts. this wait will just add more uncertainty

hewittalan6 - 06 Oct 2006 07:39 - 20907 of 27111

I,too, Am disappointed, baza.

Now Geoff Ho is a more informed guy than me so he may well know that the placing will not go ahead. If he doesn't then he is underestimating the power of refinancing

A Big if coming....

If there is a refinancing I assume the refinancers will have insider info on deals ahead. Therefore they will know their money, at least in the short term, is backed by something concrete. And also as insiders they clear Geoff's "mad" hurdle

If there is a refinacing, it will be done at such a level, deemed to be 0.8p that means the refinancers think they can get a serious return. And by serious return this must take into account the low level of liquidity

Given all this a refi would be positive in outlook and I would see that the refinancers would get expect to see a doubling of their money -- unrealised -- on refinancing just t compensate for liquidity

As such a refi will see the share towards 2p no refi and towards 0.2p . You pays your money you takes your choice

Have a look at other posts GeoffHo has written on this site - I think that shows he is who he says he is.
