Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

At last I got rid of that dreadful " save"pop-up, my whackers couldn`t dump it, my uninstall wouldn`t dump it, in fact not sure what I did do in the end but I deleted it by brute force and ignorance somehow, barsteward.

IanT - Moneyam running v slow yesterday/today. Screen refresh e.g. Traders Board, charts from stockwatch etc. all take ages - most un ADSL like. Any suggestions? me or you?

prodman - 21 May 2004 10:56 - 2092 of 7315

kernow - You are not alone, it's the same here.

GUys,

I will get JT to take a look into this.

Ian

Guys,

JT has done a few restarts which hopefully will improve things for you with regard to speed - let me know if you encounter further problems.

Ian

IanT Thanks for looking at this but no improvement I can see - 20 secs from topic list to this thread appearing, charts take 30 secs and the traders thread for today headers are still loading at 35 secs. No BT problems reported so I assume my connection is fine. Any advice?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 21 May 2004 12:23 - 2096 of 7315

Kernow,

I will speak to JT again.

I am on an AOL modem connection and not that bad for me. To fully load the traders thread was about 9 secs and 4 secs for other threads.

We have just done a few network tests and there appears to be some problems within the core BT network (a few timeouts here and there) which would show as slowness.

Can anyone on BT.net or BTOpenWound confirm?

J.

kernow - 21 May 2004 14:00 - 2099 of 7315

JT - just spent 50 mins on phone to BT - checking settings, new connection, speed tests and everything fine with me they say. I agree - other pages browse fine. Can't see why my speed is down though if most other users are OK. A mystery.

Sequestor - 21 May 2004 14:12 - 2100 of 7315

on BT broadband, 3 secs to load my stockwatch from `go`, i`m impressed.

Your research section is practically unusable due to the number of market cap errors.
There are many errors in the size of the equity issue and also there appears to be a problem with the multiplier in the market capitalization table. This produces such gems as AZH having a mkt cap of about 900.

The last page of this table is a good place to show how far out the figures are in some cases(and that multiplier error).

http://www.moneyam.com/action/scanner/showMarketScanner?page=71&name=MarketCap

James Quinn used several figures that were obviously totally wrong in his article on cash shells, so these errors clearly aren't doing your writers any favours...

Please can someone overhaul the research section ASAP.

Many thanks,
dell

Dell,

We are in the process of changing the feed which will help resolve this - I will however forward your comments onto our tech guys to see if there is anything that can be done sooner.

Morning IT /JT. Spent time again over weekend tinkering. Still having very slow page loading with Moneyam but some other webs are also a little slower than usual. CMC flies along. BT still insist the line speeds are fine. If this is not a moneyam sole issue could it be IE? Any suggestions? It's driving me up the wall.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 24 May 2004 08:04 - 2104 of 7315

kernow,

I know that the when JT did look into this he did find problems with BT (a bit technical for me so I won't attempt to explain).

With regard to IE, to be honest, I can see no reason why it should cause any slowness, but I will speak to JT when he comes in to see if he can offer any further help.

Many thanks Ian.

DocProc - 24 May 2004 08:24 - 2106 of 7315

kernow

What 'computer housekeeping' have you done to try to speed things up - or at least to try to keep things running as fast as is absolutely posssible?

kernow - 24 May 2004 08:55 - 2107 of 7315

DocProc - I've spent time deleting old files etc, scan disc, defrag, clear cookies, files, history, search for .tmp and dumped them, delete deleted e mails, weeded inbox. Anything else you'd suggest? Tia.

Spaceman - 24 May 2004 14:14 - 2108 of 7315

Any chance of making the expansion of the first posting in a thread user selectable? For some threads with very long first postings e.g. crocs daily and MM's US immigration one it would be nice to be able to select not expanding the first post, I use a blackberry but I would expect that others using mobile devices would also find this useful?? as it can save a lot of time and avoid repeatedly downloading the same info.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 24 May 2004 14:17 - 2109 of 7315

Spaceman,

I am not sure whether this is possible, but I will pass this onto JT.

Ian
