That's what stops are for, T. You didn't do anything wrong, imo. But no strategy will work 100% of the time.

Like you say, leave it till tomorrow now ...... it'll still be here.

edit: Ironically cable would have been the better play despite that initial strength.

Tellon - 29 Nov 2004 11:02 - 2092 of 11056

Its a learning Curve to I think.. The more screen time you get the better you get at noticing whats going on... Going to keep going.. Try to stick in there..

I think also going against such a strong uptrend wasnt likly to yield much..

Tellon - 30 Nov 2004 07:10 - 2093 of 11056

Feeling long this am....

hilary - 30 Nov 2004 07:16 - 2094 of 11056

Agreed. Choose your time though. I might not be around for long ....... can feel a migraine coming on ..... may have to go back to bed.

Bobcolby - 30 Nov 2004 07:19 - 2095 of 11056

Tellon

Tellon - 30 Nov 2004 07:22 - 2096 of 11056

Divetime - 30 Nov 2004 08:52 - 2099 of 11056

Morning all
Long Cable from 18905 wide stop, can`t speend to much time on the screen today.

Bobcolby - 30 Nov 2004 09:27 - 2100 of 11056

I am going out so wont trade cable again today. My lesson for today was I had good entries but closed too quick. Shud have had 30 pips on earlier short and closed flat. Went long 8908 and closed at 8922.It is now at 8947! c u tomorrow.

Tellon - 30 Nov 2004 10:24 - 2101 of 11056

You win some you lose some..

Im still long from this morning. Looking to maybe move my stop shortly..

hilary - 30 Nov 2004 10:32 - 2102 of 11056

Nice one guys. I'm long from 18897 on that second time that I gave you. I have been looking in every now and again, but I can't look at the screen for too long at a time. Migraine has eased a little bit, thanks, and is more of a dull headache now.

hilary - 30 Nov 2004 10:36 - 2103 of 11056

That's a decent gain now and I'll be happy to bank. I'm simply going to move my stop to the low of the 5-minute price bars till it takes me.

Tellon - 30 Nov 2004 10:44 - 2104 of 11056

Well done nice trade. I closed mine Flat

hilary - 30 Nov 2004 11:05 - 2105 of 11056

I suspect that I will have just been taken out. Hopefully for 120.

mg - 30 Nov 2004 14:48 - 2106 of 11056

Oh no - I've found something else to lose my money on !!

Particularly because I went short (a very small amount 'cos I'm a virgin) @19115 (after spread from IG)

MightyMicro - 30 Nov 2004 14:54 - 2107 of 11056

A virgin -- in that thong?!

mg - 30 Nov 2004 15:32 - 2108 of 11056

Dipped in a couple more times @23 and 25 - blimey this could get dangerous - more movement than I've seen for a while ......

Tellon - 30 Nov 2004 17:56 - 2109 of 11056

A 30pip trailing stop from the GBP entry at 7.20 - 7.50 would have netted 170pips.

Not a bad day... Why wasnt I awake more!! :/

Tomorrow.. .. Tomorrow!!

Tellon - 30 Nov 2004 18:06 - 2110 of 11056

Imagin if all the contracts. Thats 1.5 Trillion Dollars or 1 Billion Contracts (100k) where half long half short.

That would be $50 000 000 dollars.. A Pip!

Now bang on the interbank 1-3pip spread.. Thats 50 - 150 billion dollars a day.. No wonder these guys are rich.. I wana be an interbank broker!

edit: Thats only if you take a trillion as an american trillion! If it was an English Trillion then WOW! (* a million)
