Thanks Ian

Who cares a stuff what shares magazine says or any one else punters should do their own research and not pick up on every small thing that is said.
Except Jack Straw that is.

oblomov - 06 Oct 2006 09:34 - 20936 of 27111

Alan,

There is a vast difference between what is acceptable for you and I and others on this BB to post and what is acceptable for a 'journalist' or 'share tipper' in their professional capacity. IMO Mr Ho's posts fall far short of what I would consider professional. We dont purport to be experts, he does. You'd expect posts like his from some of the nutters we've seen over the past few years, but not from a professional - and certainly not from andysmith who got it right when hacks like Ho and Bulford were convincing us everything was hunky dory!

Oily,

Re telephone call - is it still on, nowt received!

aldwickk - 06 Oct 2006 09:36 - 20937 of 27111

hewittalan6,

So you didn't buy GFM, when i was tipping them.

pinnacle - 06 Oct 2006 09:37 - 20938 of 27111

Considerable number of buys and yet the price doesn't move - why?

Just some good news and those shorters would be stuffed - that would make my day!!

driver - 06 Oct 2006 09:43 - 20939 of 27111

That was my point in post 20925 but every one seems preoccupied.

Oblomov

I shall send it again. Seems to have got lost in the ether.

However, having spoken at length to somebody yesterday afternoon, I have decided to wait a day or two before sending the proposed message; it seems we are very close to an announcement and my rather to the point questioning on their management skills would only be an unnecessary distraction for them right now.

Anyway, having slept on it, there are other questions which will be added if the fundraising does not go as well as intimated in their RNS yesterday.

Hope that's clear.

And to the person to whom I spoke yesterday, thanks very much for your measuread and rational input.

The oily one

Oilywag - 06 Oct 2006 09:51 - 20941 of 27111

I am but an innocent and naive child, so please somebody tell me why in my screen of 25 trades there are buys totalling 23m shares against a total of 30.5m shares traded (many of the rest of which are also buys) and the bloody price drops .04p!

Manipulation to fill somebody's order?

The oily one

stockdog - 06 Oct 2006 10:35 - 20942 of 27111

Times Stock Market report page 75 today states:-

"Stanelco . . . fell . . . to 0.96p on confirming it is in the final stages of a fund-raising at 0.8p, against the 1p previously mooted. Stanelco is expected to accompany details of the rights issue - said to have secured at least 13 million - with a contract win."

Nothing absolute, but the Times does not ususally print unsubstantiated rumour. "Rights issue" - what, for all of us - that'll be the day.

Like the reference to "contract win".

Almost there, I did say wait for financing did I not as this would only happen now IF there was credible good news, without it they are gone.
Recent shares articles about shorting absolutely correct if trading is your game.
The company had reducing cash, no orders and is running out of backers.
I said sell from 18p, again at 12p then 8p and recently at 3p with a wait for re-financing note but apparently I was wrong??? Personally I have no agenda to short a company although I could be minted if I had done this on SEO.
Recent shares articles about potential recovery stock was also right so they have covered both strategies and that is what their magazine is for so tough shit if one side doesn't take your fancy, it is a magazine with articles and opinions and you make your own choices.
SEO, a money-maker for the lucky ones last year, a disaster for the blind this, I wonder what the future holds???

The future? SEO's fate has been sealed...............or GreenSealed.

Are you tempted then Andy or is still too hot... If there is a substancial contract win I think its more by luck than by excellent management negotiations... I could be tempted but not sure we have found the bottom yet..

aldwickk - 06 Oct 2006 10:54 - 20946 of 27111

Very good post Andy.

bhunt1910 - 06 Oct 2006 10:58 - 20947 of 27111

Excellent summary Andy - how I wish I had listened - hindsight is a wonderful thing - well done you for getting it right at the time

Nice post Andy, but I prefer stockdogs. First mention of a truly likely contract a source of The Times standing.
