Excellent summary Andy - how I wish I had listened - hindsight is a wonderful thing - well done you for getting it right at the time

Nice post Andy, but I prefer stockdogs. First mention of a truly likely contract a source of The Times standing.

On FT.com today:

Stanelco may scale down rescue rights
By Robert Orr

Published: October 6 2006 03:00 | Last updated: October 6 2006 03:00

Stanelco, the cash-strapped packaging group, is putting the finishing touches to a rescue rights issue that it hopes can see it through to profitability.

The group, which will run out of money next month, has been forced to scale down a plan to raise 15m and may have to settle for about 13m instead. A fundraising, priced at 0.8p, could be announced today.

Stanelco was forced to issue a statement yesterday to reassure the market that the fundraising was still on track.

The group produces a biodegradable plastic and also specialises in the use of radio frequency technology for packaging.

The shares dipped 0.22p to 0.96p. At their peak in May last year, they were worth 28p.

Really depends on the contract if it is a contract, Doubt you would get institutions willing to invest 13 million if there wasn't a significant contract in the wings... Could be a great chance to make some money, time will tell and this is only for the brave (not sure i'm that brave)...

robinhood - 06 Oct 2006 11:31 - 20955 of 27111

Strange that FT.com does not say anything about, supposedly, the contract win

greekman - 06 Oct 2006 11:38 - 20956 of 27111

OB,

Re your last post (Geoff Hoe) and comment....... "IMO Mr Ho's posts fall far short of what I would consider professional".
I fully agree, and that one sentence sums his post up completely.

bosley - 06 Oct 2006 12:26 - 20957 of 27111

oh come on guys!! geoff ho has an opinion on a stock . that is his job, to give his opinion and his reasons. his opinion on seo management is pretty much the same as everyone else's on here; that they are incompetent and that they have fucked up a promising company. maybe a few of you need to take a look at yourselves and stop being so bloody sensitive. this is about making money, not about being nice. as andysmith says, the time to sell was 30p, when it was obvious to all that seo was being hyped/ramped up. some people saw it and got out . others, myself included, fell for it , fell for the hype, the spin, the bullshit and held on believing and waiting for that big rns that never came. thankfully, i got out at 18p and 15p. many others didn't and, whilst i have a certain amount of sympathy for those nursing large losses, nobody can say that they didn't see this coming, that warnings weren't given.

NEWS FLASH!!

Basil Fawlty has a gnome for us to give to Mr Ho!!!!!

jimward9 - 06 Oct 2006 12:34 - 20959 of 27111

Shares mag do not always get it right, just another to add to the list of mistakes!

Only time will tell.

maddoctor - 06 Oct 2006 12:37 - 20960 of 27111

they wouldn,t be journalists if they got it right more times than not would they

is that so difficult to understand?

anything they say should be subject to DYOR and the consequences are yours
and thats not to say i agree with the words of Geoff Ho , i thought they were disgraceful

driver - 06 Oct 2006 12:56 - 20961 of 27111

bosley
Yes but bos since you came back in your 50% down already so you fell for the hype, the spin, the bullshit second time round most of us only did it the once.
By the way I topped up today so its definitely now doomed.

Paperbackwriter - 06 Oct 2006 12:59 - 20962 of 27111

Robinhood,
That's what I was thinking. Why did they omit it this time?

oblomov - 06 Oct 2006 13:03 - 20963 of 27111

I disagree, bos, for the reasons already given. Mr Ho has thus far failed to answer my question and substantiate his claims of 'much, much worse'.

PM1 has reported him to the FSA.

bosley - 06 Oct 2006 13:05 - 20964 of 27111

driver, not quite. this time it was about staking a small amount on a dcb. got it wrong. it was a small amount so no harm done. anyway, with all your top-ups you must be a bigger shareholder than the age of reason now !!!! ;)

bosley - 06 Oct 2006 13:05 - 20965 of 27111

oblo,

"PM1 has reported him to the FSA."

lol. i might stop laughing next week sometime .....
