Midlands Investors' Forum (MIF)

schober - 22 Oct 2004 18:55

We are a group of people who currently meet bimonthly at the Manor Hotel, Meriden (on the B4102 almost opposite thee duck pond).
See http://www.manorhotelmeriden.co.uk/
Meriden is half way between Birmingham and Coventry.

Our numbers have gradually declined over the past several months and we are now down to four. We would like to invite any Moneyamrs in the area to come along to our meetings. We currently meet mid week from 7.30 PM; there is no charge.
We discuss the outlook for the $, SPX, FTSE, metals and bonds. We look at things from a fundamental and chart view (including point & figure). We also discuss individual stocks, but tend to concentrate more on “the big picture”. There is no fixed agenda and discussion follows peoples current interests and concerns.
If you are at all interested then post a message below. I hope to have the next meeting at the end on Nov.

Regards Schober

With rising rates, Wall Street is banking on positive news in 2005
Mike Lenhoff

The downward trend in yields on 10-year US treasuries that started last summer has now been broken and the traffic has been heading the other way on the expectation that interest rates will continue to rise in 2005.................

ftse chart quite interesring today for those feeling bearish- resistance at 4805 to 4818 and suport initially at 4740 to 4756
The gap is only on the BP, CAC and NIK charts; todays bp candle does look more bearish than todays ftse which suggests the market is confused

Epic 17-year trading ranges are the bane of stock investors' existence, and unfortunately today's markets look like we are 5 years into another one

The US stock market is still pricey

World stock markets have had an attack of the wobbles. Central to their concerns are signs of deteriorating economic performance in the United States. Are they right to worry? And if so, what will be the effects over here?
