Falkland Gold and Minerals Limited ("FGML"), (FGML)

gordon geko - 15 Nov 2004 12:12

09/11/2004

Intention to float on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) and appointment of new directors

Falkland Gold and Minerals Limited ("FGML"), an exploration company, announces that it intends to implement a placing and offer for subscription to raise up to 8m and to apply for the admission of its shares to trading on AIM.

FGML was incorporated in February 2004 and has begun an exploration programme for gold and other minerals in the Falkland Islands.
FGML holds the only licence to explore for gold and minerals, giving it exclusive exploration rights to substantially all of the onshore land mass of the Falkland Islands, covering approximately 12,000 km2.
The licence, currently valid to January 2007, will be extended by the Falkland Islands Government to July 2009 on admission to AIM.

The money raised will be used to undertake further stages of its exploration programme.

If its anything like FOGL it will be very oversubscribed

profitmaker - 09 Dec 2004 17:50 - 29 of 46

Bit of a disappointing day. Plenty of action. almost 25% of new shares traded. Can't really understand why this didn't move higher. Well, there's always tomorow.

piston broke - 09 Dec 2004 22:47 - 30 of 46

never been involved in a new issue before, however would it be reasonable to assume that the MM's jobs is to get people to buy/sell shares.
If so, then if stock was oversubcribed by threefold and if they need to encourage a few sellers and buyers then they achieved their objective in there being about a qtr of a million more sells than buys. After all, as all stock was subcribed to, no one would be able to buy unless there were some sellers first.
They are therefore getting their ex's by encouraging loads of transcactions and are still sitting on those qtr of a million to play with.

gordon geko - 10 Dec 2004 13:59 - 31 of 46

can we assume that all those cheques to be returned from wh irlenad will be spent next week on the stock or were they all staging it ??

piston broke - 11 Dec 2004 09:27 - 32 of 46

I guess that if my assumption yesterday is correct, this stock should soon start going north as the MMs now have about two and a half million shares they can play with, so they have achieved their objective

Andy - 11 Dec 2004 15:30 - 33 of 46

Gordon,

well I would think those that were intending to stag it are probably no longer, so I can't see too many returned cheques ending up here.

On the otherhand, I can see some institutions possibly buying stakes, so maybe with the limited amount of stock available, the price may rise steadily northwards, rather than rocket like some had assumed pre flat?

I wonder whether some of the sellers were Phillip Securities customers, who presumably could trade on the first day?

I'm going to hold a while, hopefully they will rise once all the trading is out of the way. News may well come unexpectedly. Over the road someone thinks some good news may well be released in the not too distant future, and he was right about the FOGL additional licences, so possibly worth earing in mind.

gordon geko - 13 Dec 2004 12:32 - 34 of 46

lots of big sellers at the moment and price just about holding some positive press in sunday telegraph yesterday

colinspurr - 14 Dec 2004 10:53 - 35 of 46

May I refer all you guys punting in this stock to read Alistair Blair's article in the IC dated 3 December 2004 under his column "No Free Lunch". If he is right to me this is another directors get rich quick deal and all the punters wait for something to happen. If it does they still have 67% of the company for very little. They have not started drilling yet?

gordon geko - 21 Dec 2004 16:37 - 36 of 46

expect some news in January but can see slippage below 40p tempted to get out now ?

Andy - 21 Dec 2004 16:53 - 37 of 46

Gordon,

Well I may reduce, can use the money in more active stocks until news arrives here.

Still holding for now, but considering my options.

gordon geko - 30 Dec 2004 16:14 - 38 of 46

seems to be slowly heading towards 50p?

Andy - 31 Dec 2004 00:20 - 39 of 46

Gordon,

Yes FGML seems to have perked up, maybe thay have shaken out all the staggers now?

I still hold, and am pleased I didn't sell, maybe some news will soon arrive, and that's why the price is rising?

Good luck and Happy New year to all holders.

gordon geko - 11 Jan 2005 13:48 - 40 of 46
