Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

What? You drink with your left hand?

How common.

LOL

:)

qwento - 17 Dec 2002 16:49 - 212 of 7315

I find the loading of the main bulletin board screen extremely slow - maybe an option to limit the number of threads displayed might not go amiss.

Hotei - 17 Dec 2002 17:48 - 213 of 7315

Trade screen missing some trades. For example, take a look at SPS today on here and on advfn. You've only missed one, but it is 95% of today's volume

Billy3 - 17 Dec 2002 17:53 - 214 of 7315

How about a facility to see who is on-line ?
Now that would be interesting.

And/or, in addition to how many messages are on a thread, one saying how many people have viewed it. They had that on the MW board and it is interesting to see how many have actually viewed a thread compared to how many post on it.

Like what I've see so far, will there be a data download section? if so would be handy to include for S&P and Dow.

Juzzle - 18 Dec 2002 01:47 - 216 of 7315

Like qwento, I too find the main bulletin board page extremely slow to load, whether via the BB button in the header, or via back-to-list button from a thread, or via the browser back button. (No shortage of available memory on my PC, and no overcrowded cache)

Juzzle - 18 Dec 2002 10:34 - 217 of 7315

Even worse now.. over 20 seconds at times, no better than 5 seconds so far today for me.

PeterG - 18 Dec 2002 10:45 - 218 of 7315

Yep, BB definitely slower to load today. I think recent events must have brought you a flood of new beta testers...

Bullshare - 18 Dec 2002 12:12 - 219 of 7315

Hotei; can you give me more details on that missing trade on SPS and we will have a look see. Both us ,GNi and a few other sysetms only show the 25,000 at 9.22am

BrianTrayda - 18 Dec 2002 12:22 - 220 of 7315

Bug on Quotes.

You can enter multiple epics as "UKX,UB81,BARC" and get multiple data rows. Great - but no charts. Now that would be REALLY good.

If you then add FTSE and Dow futures you have a fantastic trend predictor on just 1 screen.

BrianTrayda - 18 Dec 2002 12:39 - 221 of 7315

Request:
I like to use Shift-Click on a Topic title to open the thread posts in a new window (leaves the main list open). I then close this new window to return to the main list - which was behind. Quick and clean!

The problem is that the "highest thread msg number read" is not updated. Could you add a button at the bottom "Mark all msgs up to [nnn] as read and close this window".

TIA

Apologies if it's been mentioned before but it would be helpful if the page titlebar started with "MoneyAM" so I can quickly find it amongst all the other browser windows I have open. For example, if the browser is minimised on this page, the window only identifies itself as "Please report bugs and enhancements", so it could be anything.

BrianTrayda - 18 Dec 2002 13:21 - 223 of 7315

Bug on Quotes (2)

Just went back to add GD81 (UKX,GD81,UB81,BARC) and realised that there is a lot of wasted space because each Epic's full title is displayed in large letters one on top of the other.

I feel it would be better to format horizontally and not vertically.

Bullshare - 18 Dec 2002 13:27 - 224 of 7315

Thanks for the bug reports today.

Hotei - 18 Dec 2002 13:38 - 225 of 7315

Bullie - re post 218 - I reported that yesterday - you're looking at today I think ?

razorgirl - 18 Dec 2002 13:51 - 226 of 7315

I actually quite like the title bar NOT starting with MoneyAM - so if I have a few charts and the Trader's Thread minimised I can see which is the Trader's Thread

Jeroo - 18 Dec 2002 14:01 - 227 of 7315

Reloaded this page http://www.moneyam.com/BulletinBoard/ShowPostList?forumID=1&threadID=151 and got this message "Can't contact servlet runner at 127.0.0.1:6802"

I then selected *bulleting boards* again, perfomed the same operation and it works OK now.

kyoto98 - 18 Dec 2002 14:03 - 228 of 7315

Re titlebar - just goes to prove you can't please all of the people all of the time. Although a recent example suggests it does turn out to be rather easier to annoy just about everyone ;-)

So here's another idea. How about introducing an opinion poll facility for features and site feedback. Nothing expected to be binding of course but it might be a useful way of getting more of an insight into what customers are thinking. Creating a more customer democratic environment would further differentiate this site from any others which are run as personal fiefdoms or dictatorships... for example... (cough).

FelixMoneyAM - 18 Dec 2002 14:12 - 229 of 7315

Have just made some changes that should speed up bulletin board a *lot*, seems to be working...

Felix - When level 2 hits our screens, will it be compatible with Sun's Java? I run the Opera browser 6.05 and beta v7 which runs Sun's Java v1.4.1.
