rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ
for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

Jimmy, presumably you are paying to roll it over day by day and also gritting your teeth that the margin doesn't get called in?
I don't SB but interested to know how far you can hold on before capitulating.

assuredly there is a currently a complete disconnect between european and us markets
perhaps it is apposite that one of the beach staff has just brought along a cold towel for soothing the fevered brow :-)
actually very pleasant indeed today with cloudless blue sky and current temperature around 25/27 degrees at 10:30 ..... i quite expect it to rise a further 5 or so as we get to early afternoon

IG's Sunday Markets are sharply down across the board
though not entirely reliable, they are still a good indicator, probably predicting a "no" vote in the italian referendum
no doubt the thught of an imminent rise in rates by the Fed will not please many either

i am currently not opening any new positions in stocks
just as a dabble, i am may on occasion run an index position, but everything looks far too unpredictable to me
a sipp of course has a much longer view, but obviously even a number of those stocks don't always perform as hoped
