Good morning all. Busy day for me and mine. Number one son and spouse with us for a flying visit so it will be "hit the shops early day" and chinkie nosh tonight. Just time to have a relaxed FEB in the cafe and then away to the fray.

Morning Socs and all, lovely day here in Norfolk, sunny and bright but a bit cold. Fairly quiet day for me, but looking forward to an extended family meal the the Wymondham Indian this evening.

Happy Bloody Christmas MUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spacey...Norfolk eh, Mrs lw at her mothers in a small Suffolk village called Thorpe Morieux near Bury St Edmunds, do you know it?
If you do maybe you could drop in and remind her to bring the parsons nose from the turkey they're having to celebrate their family 'week early' christmas meal. It'll be a big 'un so looking forward to that with gusto*

LW, I know Bury St Edmunds but not the village you mention. I was brought up in Norfolk and my Mum still lives here, we may well move back here in a couple of years as we own a bit of land that we would like to build a house on.
We are also having our family Xmas lunch tomorrow as none of us will here for christmas, me and Mrs Spaceman will be in an Emirates plane on its way to Melbourne, My youngest sister will be in Belfast my brother in Koln and my other sister in the Cotswolds, Mum is going over to Ireland on Thursday to spend the break with my sister.
Personally I woulnd not mind if Christmas was cancelled, I dislike the whole thing including the christmas meal and the crap on TV but most of all I hate the cold dull and wet weather, which is why we always spend the day on a plane on the way to Oz and Summer..... 30C and sunny yesterday, I cant wait.

Poochy - Have a wonderful Christmas wherever you are going! Shall keep my present wrapped up until the day but thank you. I have left a little surprise for you too - it is the parcel with the big kiss on the label and your eyes will certainly water when you open it :-) I am also trying to organise an honorary gold dog basket for you in the new cafe but I have to negotiate that with Spaceman first! Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx jj

One absolutely exhausted Socco crawls into the cafe, gasping for a cuppa. Saturday shopping, a pet hate, is even worse a week before crimbles. Nor is it over yet, a flying visit to Tesco followed by a call at the local Chinky nosh shop before I can relax and settle into the comfy chair.

Spacie...you echo my thoughts entirely and Christmas was the original reason we first came to SA. Apart from 'the parsons nose' there's nothing I miss about Christmas in the UK.
Reading your post made one realise just how the family unit has changed and become spread around, not only the Country but also the World.
A Global Village.
Anyway have a safe trip and enjoy Oz, its all about choices and I reckon you've cracked it.
Socks......Is this the same Socco who yesterday was shouting 'yippee'?
Suggest that after reading wot you wrote that work may not be so bad.
Jen..don't go overboard on the Mutt, there's a hitching post outside and a bucket of Bods there, he'll be happy and the caff a damn sight more hygeanic with him outside.

Yes, of course it is. Half the fun is in the preparation and then the relaxation and relief that it all comes to fruition.

Good morning from a drowsy and tired Socco, late light last night talking family history into the small hours. Fascinating what people did to earn a crust in the old days, we have everthing from lawyers to mantlemakers, shell fish dredgers and railway station masters.
Now for a FEB.

Morning guys
Coffee and a FEB needed - long day finalising the required works at the house.
Quiet day today then the demolition (the fun bit) starts tomorrow - garage and car port for starters. Had a little bonus thursday, picked up a brand new steel bath for 50 at the auction this week - costs over a grand in the shops!!!
