MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

EK has closed his short position.

Pete168 - 07 Apr 2006 12:52 - 2117 of 2444

Until the next time.
Thanks for the update 049balt.

Did he comment at why he's closing when the Gary Waanders/KBC Peel Hunts target price of 40p has not been hit yet or even been close?

Lifted from another free board..

"A man tells me that shares in Medical Marketing (MMG) are going to go up. I have therefore closed my short. Have I gone long? Lord no. I would rather have gay sex with a Liberal MP than own shares in this company given how it referred my to the FSA and is an over-valued bag of wind. But there is n point pissing into a force 10 gale".

cheers GF.

gf, have a look at PRM, I am a long term holder and am expecting significant news flow over the next three months, a rerating of the shares is likely.

swseun - 03 May 2006 12:27 - 2127 of 2444

in other thread, quite a few long term investors have ran out of patient and dropped out, what about the investors here? I am still holding with half loss.

The only thing changed is that they are nearer to their goal.
Support looks to be around 150.

Not sure we will get an announcement regarding Ru trials starting.
What I do anticipate is updates for the separate groups within MMI as and when news warrants.

Just remember Buffets favourite quote. "The stock market is a remarkably efficient mechanism for taking money from the impatient and giving it to the patient" (or words very close).

a loss only becomes a loss when you sell.......

mickeyskint - 03 May 2006 14:04 - 2130 of 2444

Too true. When we get news this will rise quickly so be patient.

Too much booze or is it not enough? Lovely afternoon down here in the garden of England so a few G&T's on the patio this evening. As for MMG well who knows.

Nice rises last couple of days, could be something brewing here,???

mickeyskint - 10 May 2006 11:19 - 2134 of 2444

Got to be some news soon rob and if it's good this will rise very quickly. A tie in will remove the blue sky and give the markets a better chance of valuation. Not one to be out of but not without risk.

This is falling like a stone today. Any views people? I can see 150 or less. No news and down she goes. I did reduced by 2/3rd's a while ago, just as well but still hold a few K.
