Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

As far as the comment about Conservatives workers, working hard for an election victory.

I daresay many like me voted tactically, I voted Conservative to ensure a euro referendum, no other reason to vote Conservative for me.

The only draw for people not to vote LIB DEM or UKIP was the undertaking to hold a referendum.

I expect to see a resurgence of LIB DEM and UKIP after the referendum in subsequent elections no matter what the result is.

Somebody had to prod Dumbo back into life.

Why?

VICTIM - 23 May 2016 08:34 - 2120 of 12628

Probably true of a fair few poo bear , but will it make any difference who we vote in , in the future as they will be pretty powerless as we get swamped by EU dictatorship . That's what it's all about , to be able to make our own decisions .

Why we MUST quit the EU, by Cameron's guru: Friend and strategist Steve Hilton breaks ranks on Brexit to say Britain will be 'literally ungovernable' unless we take back power from the self-serving elite

Former key adviser to David Cameron defies him a month before the vote

Says Britain is 'ungovernable' after being 'corruptly captured' by the EU

Believes EU will take revenge on Britain for vote and impose new diktats
Said their refusal to grant 'modest' demands shows no will for reform

David Cameron’s closest friend in politics today breaks ranks to say Britain must leave the ‘arrogant and unaccountable’ EU.

In a shattering blow to the Prime Minister, Steve Hilton claims the UK is ‘literally ungovernable’ as a democracy while it remains in a club that has been ‘corruptly captured’ by a self-serving elite.

And in an attack on Project Fear, the former No 10 adviser dismisses claims by Mr Cameron, the IMF and the Bank of England that being in the EU makes us more secure.

In an exclusive Daily Mail article, Mr Hilton – who persuaded Mr Cameron to stand for Tory leader – also delivers a devastating assessment of the PM’s referendum deal.

He says Mr Cameron made only ‘modest’ demands of Brussels – and that even these were swatted contemptuously aside. He also warns that Brussels will take revenge on Britain for the referendum if it votes to stay, by imposing fresh diktats.

Mr Hilton concludes: ‘A decision to leave the EU is not without risk. But I believe it is the ideal and idealistic choice for our times: taking back power from arrogant, unaccountable, hubristic elites and putting it where it belongs – in people’s hands.’

His declaration for Brexit with exactly a month to go until polling day will send tremors through No 10.

Along with Michael Gove, he provided the intellectual heft behind Mr Cameron’s rise to power.

Jesus,

Imagine the decisions Vicky, Dumbo and Granny's Boy might make for others.

I think they ought to be exported to Austria.

They may feel at home there.

The latest tit for tat is just more Tory in fighting. Let them rip into each other, everyone else stand back.
In an era where no one believes what any one says any more, the race is on for each side to get their vote out.

The only way to do it is to scare the bejesus out of your own supporters.
Britex will scare their supporters by claiming we are about to be swamped by migrants.
Vote In will scare their supporters by claiming the economy will collapse.

Neither side believes what the other claims. Game on. The new politics... scare the shit out of your supporters. Any wonder we give up on politicians.

jimmy b - 23 May 2016 08:58 - 2128 of 12628

will ,Steve Hilton lives in the USA now he is not involved in any Tory infighting ,get it right when you make a statement .

VICTIM - 23 May 2016 08:59 - 2129 of 12628

Get back to work .

VICTIM - 23 May 2016 09:00 - 2130 of 12628

Don't upset him jimmy he'll start throwing things .

will10 - 23 May 2016 09:05 - 2131 of 12628

jimmy boy

The twat was/is still a tory boy. Did he have to get out of the country first? . Statement still stands.

MaxK - 23 May 2016 09:07 - 2132 of 12628

I think the remain side are starting to panic, this isn't going the way they thought at all.

Wheeling out the lovies seems to have backfired. Ordinary people don't give a toss for Branson et al's scare stories from his private island.

jimmy b - 23 May 2016 09:11 - 2133 of 12628

will he is a uni lecturer ,he went because his wife had a job with Google i think.
I would think he would be a bit more clued up than you.

He most certainly does know more than me. Cameron will issue rebuttals very soon. The point I was making is it is Tory on Tory. We can stand back and let them slug it out.
Neither side believes anything the other says.
It's all about getting your sides vote out. The way to that is to scare them.
Also , let the boys in the Tory party rip into each other. All stand back please.

cynic - 23 May 2016 09:46 - 2135 of 12628

though freddy flintstone may wish otherwise, i don't think there will be any huge fallout in the tory party regardless of which way the referendum goes

had labour got anyone dynamic at its helm, then the story might be different, but corbyn contributes nothing and is unlikely to gain popularity let alone kudos from his "sit back and watch" attitude - but his spin doctors no doubt reckon that that is the limit of his capabilities

required field - 23 May 2016 09:47 - 2136 of 12628

Those that want us to remain in this dodgy EU setup are looking at the future in a very narrow perspective and most probably in a selfish way !...... Best longterm prospects for Britain is to vote leave ! ....from my point of view : illegal immigration and nothing being done about it or very little has made me decide to vote for the leave camp as their arguments make better sense that the other lot....

What does Steve Hilton lecture on.? Please ...don't say politics.
