Happy New Year, Fred, even if it is a bit belated.
Glad to hear that the op seems to have gone OK. These things are not without risk, or so they always tell us........................
No travel plans fixed yet, still "recovering" from the excesses of Christmas. Just pottering about doing bits and pieces, and tasks put aside for "rainy days", (oh and watching L2 for the last few days). It's still on offer, if you are quick, and it gets round L1 being contended too. Now the price has dropped it is tempting, but there is still a hefty mark up on what the LSE charges. Maybe a generous broker will start to offer it..........
So, any time for the Anchor as far as I am concerned.
Not seen anything of Stan of late. Hope he is OK. Perhaps he is in hiding with all his profit making? Or in Switzerland.....?

How about Tuesday 24th Jan 4.30pm at the Anchor?
Would consider a Chineese or curry afterwards.
If Stan doesn't surface I will E-mail him.

A view re L2. Might generate a bit of discussion. We need to understand it as it is spreading across more and more stocks now.
Effectively there are now three layers.
1. The prices and volumes the various named MMs set.
2. Prices and volumes set by others within the named MM prices.
3. The price investors get when dealing with so-called price improvement systems, such as with on-line brokerages.
Trades on the system "take out" either of the first two above, but the third, at best, can only indirectly influence the prices set by the first two.
All good fun, and it's always better when our holdings are rising!

Happy New Year , Stan. We were starting to wonder if anything was up. Hope you manage to get on top of everything again. The market hasn't gone away, so we are still "at it".

Had a look at Wing Yip Restaurant, a little out of the centre, but they have a wide buffet type menu which might suit us.
The Restaurant is part of the Supermarket complex. Ate there about 10years ago the eggs were good, should be vintage by now.
Meet as usual about 4.30p back bar of the Anchor.

Sounds good but 10 years Is a long time, just wondering that say the place Is no longer there or perhaps now a burger fast food dive.
We had a lovely Chinese meal In Manchester on Sat. and that was In there China town area.
We chose a given area with lots of restaurants because we felt competition would keep standards up and prices down. We were not disappointed the meal was excellent, just a thought.

Popped in on Saturday, They still have two tables and a counter you can stand at. Same waiter as ten years ago, although he now has two crutches to walk with and a trolley to put the food on!
The newspaper table cloths and bring your own napkins.

Morning Boys, got home fine and thought It was quite a relaxed place considering the size of the eating area. Only crib was the quality of the duck pieces, but should have been more selective as you said Fred. Very good choice of food overall and thought It was a good venue, thanks Fred.
