THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

fliper

I think you must be exaggerating a 'big drive' by Markus on any hole!!

Seriously though, it's about time a few more peeps put their names down. Having arranged this event last year I know that it can be a little stressful, insomuch as Markus is committed to paying out a set amount of money for a certain amount of players, no matter how many turn up. So come on, it's a great day out, sign up!!

Bully, you lost yer nerve after yer last trip up North? Don't worry we will keep the foamy cream away from Chocs!!

fliper - 14 Apr 2006 19:23 - 213 of 505

I can confirm Horsley is a good track, and all players will have a great time here. pth (was payed a lot of cash to post about markus long drive ! )

markusantonius - 14 Apr 2006 19:36 - 214 of 505

Hey, Fliper - what about disclosing driving length details of the long Par 5 (14th. Hole)? I do recall outdriving you by some 30 yards en route to almost reaching the green in just 2 incredible strikes against a wee breeze! Am I exaggerating?

:o)

Apologies to Canary9 - I still make you the "dark horse", Rod, but after recently being cut by 2 h'cap strokes (about time, one might add!) I think you might find it tough to score at this particular venue (IMHO). Eric's odds will go up as well if he gets cut in the meantime. But, off 20, is still the wise old fox we must all dethrown! :o)

canary9 - 19 Apr 2006 09:28 - 219 of 505

Mark, back up to 19.4 already after a disaster last weekend!
Eric and I need a rapidly narrowing fairway for the longest drive. Can you oblige? For nearest the pin, we'd like no more than 150yds! .............................Rod

fliper - 19 Apr 2006 18:35 - 220 of 505

Markus , have you any odds for the, distance from the 9th hole (winning shot) and most balls in the water ?

markusantonius - 19 Apr 2006 22:43 - 221 of 505

Fliper - as YOU KNOW - HL has 11 (of 18) holes with H2O seriously "in play" from White Tees. Even off Yellow Tees, the course still favours the lower handicappers...........

Got your message, Fliper - my short game was patchy in today's sludge - should be OK for your challenge next week dep on which day(s) you have in mind...?

EWRobson - 21 Apr 2006 21:23 - 224 of 505

Interesting odds. Happy to wager against my winning at 5 to 2- lightening doesn't strike twice... Mind, I'll have a tenner that I get the longest drive - provided the fairway is narrow (have won a couple of those in the last two years, believe it or not!)

Have MoneyAM put out the mailing as promised? Still plenty of time to get the people with the marketing effort. My participation is encouragement to other rabbits and decrepits to have a go!

Eric

markusantonius - 21 Apr 2006 21:59 - 225 of 505

It does not appear so, Eric! Where are all the M-AM guys; have you forgotten all about us here? :o( :o( :o(

markusantonius - 21 Apr 2006 22:01 - 226 of 505

BTW, Eric - 18 is probably the widest fairway on the course. But rest assured it needs to be as it's a 190yds carry over H2O and trees for your drive!

EWRobson - 21 Apr 2006 22:17 - 227 of 505

Thanks for that! Do 20 handicappers play off the yellow or red tees, particularly if they are over x0?

markusantonius - 21 Apr 2006 22:42 - 228 of 505

LOL. We ALL play off Yellow Pots, Eric. I tried to get White but, sadly, these are only reserved for Club and big society events (or happily, which ever way you look at it?)! Hey, you can always lay up short of the Pond and play the hole as a Par 5 (nett 2 pts.)?
