First one to jump on board, ... next one please
Could we regret the issue of that big amount of shares? hope no, but it could really facilitate a take over of the company.

HD2005 - 11 Oct 2006 13:43 - 21255 of 27111

0.01 pence??? Am I missing something here?

StarFrog - 11 Oct 2006 13:46 - 21256 of 27111

Yes, a decimal point.

HD2005 - 11 Oct 2006 13:50 - 21257 of 27111

Sorry bit of a typo there but what I was getting at is this announcement seems to be over a total outlay of just over 30k. If it means 1% of a penny!

Maybe it's been too long a day already!

alfalfa - 11 Oct 2006 13:51 - 21258 of 27111

Worry not, HD. That's simply the nominal value of each share and not its market price.

I have clarified with HL and the eligibility date to take part in the Open Offer is definitely close of business on Monday 9th October {edited for my error stating 10th - it is the 9th !}.

Apparently, the Record Date is for the benefit of the Registrars who will notify anyone who was a holder on that date, i.e. Friday 6th October.

Thus, if you became a new holder on Monday (and still held them by business close on Monday), you will need to contact your broker/registrar if you wish to take place in the offer.

Alfa.

Thanks alfalfa.

I think the RNS has a typo and should refer to Calyon not Caylon. The Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank have an interest in sustainablility but I do not know why they are involved at this stage with SEO.

It may well be that the SPhere rumour is true, SPhere are based in France I think; Calyon is French.

chesneya - 11 Oct 2006 14:12 - 21262 of 27111

Calyon is indeed French and part of the Credit Agricole group. It's an Institutional brokerage.

PATISEAR - 11 Oct 2006 14:15 - 21263 of 27111

alfalfa
Just spoke to my Broker {Halifax} and they say the same, @ close on the 10th.

hewittalan6 - 11 Oct 2006 14:35 - 21264 of 27111

If the SPhere rumour is true then we can expect to see many more of these RNS notifications, all from the same company as the holding builds.

This is only the start!

The french are coming, and with a little help from others - new owners will appear-the only problem is what happens to us - we lose as usual!!

OR:

This has been done as a reminder to Stanelco that Sphere are watching VERY carefully - at least with this scenario we should be guaranteed a reasonable return.

soul traders - 11 Oct 2006 15:27 - 21266 of 27111

Peeps, I thought SPHere was Spanish ??

EDIT at least it seemed to be when I looked at something on PM1's site that was thrown up by a search engine.

kimoldfield - 11 Oct 2006 15:33 - 21267 of 27111

ST,
I think this is the same SPhere:-

No idea, Kim. the link on PM1's site no longer works anyway.

antofelli - 11 Oct 2006 15:58 - 21269 of 27111

Was wandering if Mr Geoff Ho knows about Credite Agricole`s stake in Stanelco.

hewittalan6 - 11 Oct 2006 16:06 - 21270 of 27111

Now, I'm not one for pissing on anyones fire (actually thats wrong in almost every way), but the RNS about the French holding begs a further question.
Is this brought about by the firm commitment, and if so why is there only one notified? If it is then A of R should be giving the same sort of notification. Unfortunately I do not know the rules for when a commitment becomes ownership and notification has to take place.
If it is not part of the firm commitment, then I am a happy little pixie that there is a new large backer.

One other point to consider:

I would want to see for myself that the MMf's actually work and do what they should before buying the company.

On this basis we should get 10p - what a steal knowing then that the future is virtually guaranteed.

Yes it's a little more to pay than making a deal now - but I would have actual evidence that the concepts work!!

kimoldfield - 11 Oct 2006 16:09 - 21272 of 27111

Antofelli, more important, do SPhere know about it or are Calyon doing it off their own bat?!

ST, SPhere's website:-.
Definitely the same company.
