Great prizes, Bullshare. Is that the Open jug? Pity that we higher handicappers lost out in the handicap negotiations - 3/4 the difference! Wonder if Cabrera is playing - hits his 7-iron the length of my drives! Oh well, t'will be a great day, particularly if it coincides with an RNS on Stanelco's Wal-Mart deal!

Bit of a nightmare for me today.
Got ready for work as usual, went to get into my car....!! all of the windows are down and my car has been cleaned out.
My beloved golf clubs (callaways) that my wife bought me for xmas, my king cobra driver GONE!! :( and my brand new taylor made recovery club :( and not forgetting my odyssey putter.
Im a bit gutted and am not sure if i'll be able to replace my clubs in time for the MAM Open, Im pretty sure i'll still make it, but will obviously be no threat on the day.

Funny - same thing happened to a mate of mine recently - sounds like a dodgy insurance claim, to me, Paul, and I've heard some excuses in my time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's your handicap?
Anyway we are playing for second prize as PTH is clear favourite on home soil and he's the biggest bandit I have come up against in well over a decade, e.g. reaching a Par 5 in 2 strikes, playing off a 19 handicap. Need I say anymore? Just ensure that the 2, 3 - place prizes are worth winning, that's all!

i am a self certificated 18 (should really be a 20ish) i'm currently on an average of 20 just need a final card for my club to give me an official handicap.
i think the fact PTH is on home turf he should be dropped at least 2 shots :) good course management is a massive advantage, sorry am i opening a can of worms here. LOL

I think the fact that PTH is doing the organising should keep him preoccuppied enough to stop him winning - very rarely do people play well in days they orgasnise :-)

I will give you all a progress report on el Bandito's form when we play again (at my course this time) on Friday.....
Agree with PJ but let's be more draconic with PTH - 19 x 50% = 10 strokes received but stay with 75% for the rest of us, agreed? Believe me, he would still have a chance of The Jug, playing off 10!

It is normal practice for shots to be deducted when playing on your home course - with visitors :-)
But it is only a game !!!

I think you are all taking this far too seriously!! Managed to 'score' yet another No Return for today's Medal, so I don't think you have too much to worry about. Be playing off 20 at this rate!!
Paul, sorry to hear about your 'loss' there are some real b***ards around! Hope you manage to get sorted out prior to the day.

well there is some light at the end of the tunnel as they say. just about to order myself a set of Ping G2 HL's and also upgrade my driver from the cobra 370cc to the 460cc - i've got an old set of irons i'll use for this weeked and hopefully have the pings delivered for next friday.
if i go with the callaways again with the same adjustments that can take upto 4 weeks, so Ping it is.
Just got to find myself a white hot one putter now, which are pretty hard to come by with the short shaft i use, but im sure one will pop up somewhere.
do you think i can get away with all of the individual items as one claim i.e the driver/putter/iron????? even tho they were all bought at diffent times

Have had 2 sets nicked from different cars. The last lot were (unfortunately) on full show through the hatchback - so they just put a brick through the glass and legged it. Had a spare bag in at the same time which also went. Claimed the lot with little problems. Was about 4 years ago since the last lot went. Now playing with full set of Calloways which are excellent.
BUT nightmare getting everything sorted out with the car. Best of luck pj.

The lengths to which some people will go to increase their chance of winning! First, have your clubs stolen and let everybody know you haven't a chance. Then replace them with a better set, practise through to midnight, come psychologically accepting you can't win, then play your socks off and clean up! Its like these pros like Langer coming up with bad backs and then winning comfortably. Can't see the point of MoneyAM guys winning the Level 2 though - better waive that one! Booby prizes?

Just returned after my "re-match" with PTH on my own (Championship Meadowland Course) today..... and let's just say that if there any brokers out there who are taking bets on the M-AM Golf Day then they would surely make PTH a clear out-&-out #1 favourite! The guy is an absolute bandit with nerves of steel.....
Result: match - halved but with Peter having to hole out 5 and 3 foot putts to keep the match going on 16 and 17, respectively. I repeat my earlier posts - We are all playing for 2nd, 3rd and spot hole prizes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
