THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Yates,

Can remember one of those with saw dust on the floor and a rail behind you at the bar to stop you falling over.

The bar had and entrance door at one end and exit door at the other end.

your fave local fred, for meeting the comrades :-)

dreamcatcher - 12 Feb 2013 16:03 - 21339 of 81564

I bet they take it in turns with a bloke on watch at the door to alert the poor devils he is on his way. lol

Yates wine lodge, crumbs that brings back memories. My Mother was not impressed with me when I woke her up and asked her to dance with me - totally off my head, she did get up and did have a dance as she did not want my Father to see me after(leading or bleeding scooners of whatever). Sherry I think! I got a severe talking to the next day.

Cynic,

In those days I might even have spoken to you.

But since then developed better taste or more frighten of my wife.

optomistic - 12 Feb 2013 16:11 - 21344 of 81564

as bullshit has been in the conversation this morning and it is after lunch time! I read in the free paper on the train this morning that Clostridium difficile has been effectively treated by feeding another type of feces into the patients stomach...bit early for an April 1st joke I think.

cynic - 12 Feb 2013 16:15 - 21345 of 81564

as i never felt the need of sustenance at YWL, you'll be glad to know that you wouldn't even have spoken to me by accident, even when heavily in your cups

Stan - 12 Feb 2013 16:23 - 21346 of 81564

No no. I did guess the 1st & last ones.. it was just the 2 FF's in between -):

Yes Fred thats right, and talking of Yates I went to the last Yates wine bar that was still done out to the original layout.. Anyone guess where it is or was?

I will not make any comments about your experience, as long as you don't mention mine.

Stan - 12 Feb 2013 16:44 - 21353 of 81564

It was a Sunday lunchtime I think, late 80's or early 90's We were there for a game of Rugby (yes me paying to watch Rugby -):

Another Q. who were the 2 teams? Might surprise some here.

3 monkies - 12 Feb 2013 16:51 - 21354 of 81564

Could it have been Wigan or Leigh? My late husband played for Waterloo so I never went to a match in Chorley.

Stan - 12 Feb 2013 16:55 - 21355 of 81564

Wigan it was, can't remember why at Chorley, well done again, they were playing Fulham.
