THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Why would Amazon pay that much. They turnover about £3bn. They would only pay tax on the profit. Their margins on books etc are fairly small due to undercutting other suppliers. It looks another silly lefty idea.

i wonder what MrT has to say about nag nuggets being made in west yorkshire - not bradford, you'll note! - and his adopted ancestral home of aberystwyth

greekman - 13 Feb 2013 08:31 - 21387 of 81564

Forget surprising scientists, if I could do the same it would certainly surprise the wife.
Whether she would be pleased, would be another matter.

no doubt she thought that when she bobitted you, that was the end of it all

Racehorses and pet ponies could have ended up in restaurants across UK
It is the first suspected case of a UK abattoir passing off horse meat for beef
Waitrose also pulls range of beef meatballs because they might contain pork

cynic - 13 Feb 2013 08:49 - 21391 of 81564

from all your blathering, it is clear that you buy food from some very dodgy establishments ..... no doubt you stop by the local burger/kebab van as you stagger out of your pub with a bladder and brain-cavity full of rotgut cider

"Owen Paterson flies to Brussels for crisis talks over ongoing scandal"

....does he do anything else but talk...like action?

Fred1new - 13 Feb 2013 08:57 - 21393 of 81564

Have you ever considered what goes into a cow to produce a pint of milk?

I think there is some sense in the "outrage" i.e. the fraud, but there is an awful lot of huffing and puffing.

A bit like Cameron.

What time does your pub open?

cynic - 13 Feb 2013 09:24 - 21398 of 81564

so MrT, you are only blathering from hearsay or taking what the daily wail or some other twaddle-publication prints as gospel ..... when you have some firsthand experience - aka facts - to work from, then you might write sense, though from past experience, this is singularly unlikely

TANKER - 13 Feb 2013 09:27 - 21399 of 81564

skin no pub today never drink on wednesday

TANKER - 13 Feb 2013 09:29 - 21400 of 81564

skinny - 13 Feb 2013 09:30 - 21401 of 81564

Sigh!

optomistic - 13 Feb 2013 09:34 - 21402 of 81564

skinny, do you trust what they do in the back room of all the take aways? I don't.

But I will say we have one in my area that does all the cooking in full view of the customer...that I am happy with :-)
