Old Socs has just posted on the Wiggie thread, must be playing truant or coome home early for a bit of afternoon delight

vasey - 30 Jan 2003 14:27 - 215 of 23498

pooch: have reposted under the ketchup bottle. Thanks

hilary - 30 Jan 2003 14:34 - 216 of 23498

Jeffmack,

Are you suggesting that Socks' idea of afternoon delight is posting on the Wiggy fred?

Socrates - 30 Jan 2003 14:35 - 217 of 23498

Good afternoon everyone, Old Socks is home early again due to power failure at work, again. Apparently the hampster sprained his ankle and couldn't run the treadmill on three legs so the RSPCA said "no more", so all the hampster power is off.

vasey
Thanks very much for the DYS gen, even a nod and a wink helps to keep confidence up. Oddly enough I was looking at some information today on metal matrix and ceramic matrix composites today, who knows, might even use some one day.

GD
Not only do you have big ears but you have got a wet nose. Where you been you naughty dog

Socrates - 30 Jan 2003 16:40 - 219 of 23498

jeffmack
Truant, moi!

hilary
Afternoon delight is definitely not posting on the Wiggins thread. Having said that, old WGG is starting to get interesting. New director, large chunks of shares traded, something is afoot!

Has anyone put the kettle on?

jeffmack - 30 Jan 2003 16:42 - 220 of 23498

Old Socs
Bought a few myself today....

Socrates - 30 Jan 2003 16:47 - 221 of 23498

What's your target this time Jeff?

jeffmack - 30 Jan 2003 16:54 - 222 of 23498

Socs
4p would be nice

vasey - 30 Jan 2003 16:56 - 223 of 23498

andycarr: how did your portfolio do today? Or was it just a lurk-day?

jeffmack - 30 Jan 2003 16:56 - 224 of 23498

Evening V, or are we just invisible

vasey - 30 Jan 2003 17:03 - 225 of 23498

jeffmack: funnily enough, that's exactly what you were! I didn't realise there were more posts - reading the content not the number of total posts. The old cafe had a little line saying how many unread posts remained and I clearly miss that feature! Sorry, no offence intended.

I was mildly conscious that people do lurk in the corners of the tea rooms and find it hard to get a word in edgeways. I was hoping to encourage any lurkers to speak up and not be intimidated by our noise......

Socrates - 30 Jan 2003 17:12 - 226 of 23498

Jeff
4p for WGG, nice prospect.

Hi vasey
Shall I open the bottle now?

vasey - 30 Jan 2003 17:20 - 227 of 23498

I might wait a bit yet, Socks. Did you get my e-mail?

Socrates - 30 Jan 2003 17:27 - 228 of 23498

vasey
Not had one yet today, I'm listening out for the fanfare which will announce it's arrival. I'll keep the fizzy stuff on ice till you are ready.

andycarr - 30 Jan 2003 18:18 - 229 of 23498

Hi Vasey

Not much action on my portfolio today.. seemed to bypass the bounce altogether... however it did also miss the 13 down days in a row too... so no complaints!

Traded BARC a bit and that was it. Didn't like the look of the weather today so took the dog (mine not GD!)out for a run early and thankfully missed the snow we had here.

How was your day?

vasey - 30 Jan 2003 18:45 - 230 of 23498

Hmmm. Socks, Sent a long e-mail through the internal, detailing chat with DYS. If not arrived by tomorrow, I'll re-send. I'll have to rewrite 'cos I have no record here, of course, of what I said. RATS!

AC: spent most of it catching up on things that didn't get done in the previous 3 days. Fascinating to watch AZN. You really would not want to be caught out on the wrong side these days. Even getting the dry cleaning is risky.

As a new visitor to the 'Golddog Experience', is there anything you think we could do to make either of these establishments more welcoming to passing trade? I met somebody the other day who said we were intimidating and a clique. They felt there was a barrier. So, comments - good or bad - please.

8 Ball - 30 Jan 2003 19:13 - 231 of 23498

Good evening all.

GD I am working at the NEC tomorrow, could you supply refreshment's.
I will be sitting on the M6 most of the afternoon, cheers..

Andy..... Did you ever pop into the old cafe on ADVFN.

andycarr - 30 Jan 2003 19:17 - 232 of 23498

vasey

Didn't notice any clique here... I hadn't spoken to you or GD before, but felt welcome at The lodge and The Tea Rooms. It's great to come and have a natter after a day staring at screens full of data! Also GD makes a great cup of tea!

I will give it some thought though, and if I come up with any bright ideas will let you know.

What is the Share trading game all about and when is the 50,000 credited to my bank A/C?!!

andycarr - 30 Jan 2003 19:21 - 233 of 23498

Hi 8 Ball

No, strangly enough, I never visited the old cafe. Were you a regular there?

I played at the NEC once in 1991... big old barn! Good luck on the M6 tomorrow...
