Interesting performance table this morning...is it right?

RUPIE - 27 May 2005 09:15 - 217 of 550

Suspect it may be due to cookson consolidation. Just a theory.

Ruth - 27 May 2005 14:20 - 218 of 550

Boys down, girls down too, bears down 5% and bulls down 7%, so overall doesnt matter if your long or short , overall the winner is the market and the tax man, and the direct access companys, think im in wrong job:-)

Dil - 27 May 2005 22:11 - 219 of 550

Martini , didn't you bother enter ?

:-)

Martini - 31 May 2005 16:49 - 220 of 550

Yes entered went to cash and ended up in 224 place doing nothing:)

Looks like old knowitall Kayak has won.

Well done that man and why is the thread unblessed now?

I tried me best but couldn't quite jump enough today :O) well done Kayakk

Kyoto - 31 May 2005 18:40 - 223 of 550

I have a theory that Charlielincs shorted WNL. Congratulations Kayak!

Kayak - 31 May 2005 18:46 - 224 of 550

There do seem to be a couple of funnies in the table, e.g. PorkS word from 825th to 7th. Suggest we wait until MoneyAM/Shares confirm the results before congratulating anyone :-)

Well done niggle on IBG.

niggle - 31 May 2005 19:33 - 225 of 550

Thanks, you sussed my biggie then?, I don't suppose it could have been any other share!

Bullshare - 31 May 2005 20:05 - 226 of 550

Porksword had a nice short running from 90+ on RPT!!!

Looks like Kayakk has won, just going to check everything after midnight and make sure his entry is valid, real name, real address, get his passport and driving licence verified , you know the sort of stuff!!!

Martini - 31 May 2005 20:20 - 227 of 550

Well done Kayakk...

Kayak - 01 Jun 2005 11:25 - 230 of 550

Thanks everyone...

S*d off Martini :-)

Dil - 01 Jun 2005 12:16 - 231 of 550

If you would like someone more photogenic for the presentation pics I could always stand in for you Kayak :-)

Kayak - 01 Jun 2005 12:21 - 232 of 550

OK Dil, done. However bring your wallet since the appointment is late morning and you're likely to be expected to buy a round :-)

foale - 01 Jun 2005 12:35 - 233 of 550

I can see that mathematically going to be harder to win
in the second month as many are starting from place 1000 or so
after having done terribly last month
and so a 10% gain from that on a recovery of a rubbish trade
puts them near the top

Going to have to win the overall I suppose :-)

Kayak - 01 Jun 2005 12:44 - 234 of 550

Well you could buy the same stock foale. You're right though, the one flaw in the game is that the people who were in a trade as of last night have had their loss on the spread accounted for last month, since the valuations are done on bid for longs and offer for shorts, and the stamp duty too in the case of longs. They do have an advantage over anyone not in a trade and buying the same stock today.

RUPIE - 01 Jun 2005 12:47 - 235 of 550

Would it not be fairer and more accurate for the gains in the Monthly charts to be expressed as a percentage of 100,000 we all started with? It would also allow interesting accurate monthly performance comparisons.
