Patisear,

I posted yesterday. The Halifax sent out and e-mail notification of the corporate action. You must log onto their website and look it up in you "manage account" section.

Odd thing,
A (large) tranche of shares I bought on 09/10/2006 have been included in my offer!!
I thought the record date was 06/10/2006.
Not complaining, you understand, just puzzled.

Alan - You may have missed my posting of several days ago.

The Record Date was end of 6th October 2006.

The Ex(cluded from)-entitlement date was 10th October 2006.

The Record Date is simply the date that the registrars use to check their lists and notify folks who are not going to be notified by their brokers.

The Ex-Date is always set a couple of days later and means that any shares bought from that date onwards are not qualifying holdings.

Thus, any shares held at close of business on 9th October 2006 qualify for the Open Offer entitlement.

Hope this helps.

Alfa.

Thanks for that Alfa.
understanding simple things has never been my strong point, ask anybody!!

Alfa/Alan I bought 25k on the 10th, just before the RNS, they have been included in my entitlement; I sold them on the 16th Ex Rights. Just thought I'd throw that in to confuse you further!!

bristlelad - 18 Oct 2006 21:32 - 21633 of 27111

WHO -GOD???

alfalfa - 18 Oct 2006 22:31 - 21634 of 27111

kim - I would be truly astounded if that were the case - but pleased for you nonetheless.

May I suggest you check the date of your trade.

The RNS was actually released on the 9th October, providing an opportunity to purchase as many qualifying shares as you liked up to the close of business on that date - if you were aware (and I certainly wasn't).

The prospectus clearly states that the Ex-Date is the 10th October, i.e. only shares held prior to that date were qualifying shares.

Curious.

Alfa.

Alfa, & Alan
Humble apologies! It is me who is confused; my trade was indeed on the 9th of course. I have been somewhat rushed off my feet of late and no longer know what planet I am on, even thought today was Tuesday until this pm!!! Jet lag has nothing on it! Ah well, thank God tomorrow is Saturday!

Anyone heard anything about the open offer from Selftrade who is my online broker. Anyway, I've just emailed them. Will post response if informative.

Lucky bugger Alan - wish SEO's RNS had made that clear on the day, so we could all have done that. Green in both senses!

robinhood - 19 Oct 2006 08:52 - 21637 of 27111

maestro one day you are screaming BIG NEWS IMMINENT next day your mate in the city tells you something big brewing and now you say sub 1p again. Do us all a favour and either shut up or short the share so we can all have a laugh

hewittalan6 - 19 Oct 2006 08:52 - 21638 of 27111

Luck on my part, SD. I bought them before the RNS!!!

greekman - 19 Oct 2006 08:53 - 21639 of 27111

Stockdog,

Not with Selftrade myself, but a poster on another thread who is with Selftrade also states they have heard nothing.

kevharris - 19 Oct 2006 09:09 - 21640 of 27111

Stockdog,

I am with Selftrade.
You should see your allocation shown in the portfolio section of your dealing account. I phoned them yesterday and they advised me to ensure I transfer sufficient funds into the trading account and send them a secure message from the website stating that I would like to take the offer up.
As for the prospectus I downloaded it and read it from the Stanelco website.
Others appear to have had problems with their allocation from Selftrade (Which has been acknowledge) so if you have traded close to the 10 Oct (or not!) double check you have what you should have.

Hope that helps.
