Dont say an abba gold cd.

Socrates - 29 Dec 2004 16:10 - 21636 of 23498

What's all this chat about Christmas leftovers. Mine are all gone and eaten, there is nothing like efficient catering.

Poor old Jeffmack, first time I've ever heard of an IT man getting back problems, apart from the usual "can't lift it off the bed". Get well soon Jessie!

Big Al - 29 Dec 2004 16:23 - 21637 of 23498

Afternoon punters.

Quick espresso here and no alcohol in any shape or form. ;-(((

This may change in a couple of days! ;-))

jeffmack - lie face down on the floor, completely flat, relax and once the tension has eased start pushing with your arms to flex your back concave. Keep going for a while and chances are it'll all slip into place. (Had the same trouble for 20 years)

Priscilla - 29 Dec 2004 16:30 - 21638 of 23498

Mrs Jeffie might even let you do your 'exercises' on the bed. She probably recognises those instructions, especially the ...'chances are it'll all slip into place' bit! If she can't keep a straight face when you tell her you need to do this to ease your 'chronic backache', don't sulk! Her laughter will make the mattress shake so much, you will be in even more pain!

optomistic - 29 Dec 2004 16:31 - 21639 of 23498

Cured it Al?

optomistic - 29 Dec 2004 16:49 - 21640 of 23498

Going offline now so bye folks enjoy your evenings, particularly Jeffie who I'll bet wishes he had never mentioned his back problem this AM. Have a Guinnes Jeff, but not while you are on the floor slipping it into place :-)

stockbunny - 29 Dec 2004 17:17 - 21641 of 23498

Ok people one bunny heading for home :>)
Enjoy the evening and will the last one out the door please lock up.

Socrates - 29 Dec 2004 17:50 - 21642 of 23498

Oh dear, all alone again.

The Asian tragedy is getting worse by the minute. I fully expect the death toll to end up at around 250,000. Terrible. I really feel for those people with relatives on holiday out there. They may just disappear, no news, no bodies, nothing.

jeffmack - 29 Dec 2004 18:49 - 21643 of 23498

Well I left work early to rest my poor back, and what an afternoon on the box.... Sound Of Music, classic viewing.

This_is_me - 29 Dec 2004 18:54 - 21644 of 23498

Bunny I still have all my JRVS shares (in fact I bought a few more first thing) - up over 100% on the day and I intend to keep them. People said the same about AHT and took 50%, I have 10 times that profit on them.

little willie - 29 Dec 2004 19:17 - 21645 of 23498

Evening all, well done TIM, played a blinder there; I'd love to
have done a bit of that, wow! What a way to finish the year,
hope you had a substantial stake.

Jessie my boy, sorry to hear you've done your back in, what was
the cause of it this time? Trust a Secretary wasn't involved.

Or was it that old chestnut; trying to lift your wallet with your
Xmas bonus in it without outside assistance?

Seem to remember you did the self same thing a couple of years
ago upon your promotion from the tea making dept.

Some high flyers never learn in their quest to be like Icarus.

Wish I knew what exercises Cilla was talking about as they sound like fun.

This_is_me - 29 Dec 2004 19:26 - 21646 of 23498

Have you seen any of the cricket LW?

Fundamentalist - 29 Dec 2004 19:54 - 21647 of 23498

TIM

well done on jarvis - amazing how a company can announce losses of nearly 300m in the first half and the share price doubles in a day!!!! (i know its a bit more complex than that)

Watched a fair bit of the cricket on telly the last few days - been really exciting and all in the pot for tomorrow - time to settle back for the big game now - see you all tomorrow (unless im in later gloating lol)

Fundamentalist - 29 Dec 2004 20:04 - 21648 of 23498

TIM

Just noticed on T1ps that Evil K is short Jarvis in a very large way - i think i smell burnt fingers lol - tomorrow could well be another good day for you

ps nice to see MXC looks like it will pip AHT

This_is_me - 29 Dec 2004 22:32 - 21649 of 23498

Evil posted a lot on the JRVS thread on ADVFN over Christmas, but not today! After making so much shorting JRVS from over 1 you would think that he would have had the sense to bail out when they got 50 million more for the tube lines stake than the market expected.

Lucky goal means a win for the goons.

It looks very unlikely that I will win the 500 in the stockpickers competition. I am just happy that I made much more that that on the rise in AHT!

Fundamentalist - 29 Dec 2004 22:44 - 21650 of 23498

TIM

well take the win - keeps the pressure on - could do with the scousers doing us both a favour at the weekend

Likewise i cant win the comp - i have the winning share but my second share has had a shocker! Likewise made more than the prize but bailed too early :-)

This_is_me - 29 Dec 2004 23:17 - 21651 of 23498

I find it hard to pick the top and the bottom of a trend. I now buy in small lots as the trend develops so that I don't lose much if I get it wrong, of course that means that i don't make as much either. I sell when I see the trend going into reverse, so I don't get the top either.

Portsmouth have shown how to play Chelski, so they might find it harder from now on. We will know better on Feb 2nd the likely positions at the top of the league.

optomistic - 30 Dec 2004 07:54 - 21652 of 23498

Morning, early breakfast for me then out for the day. Good luck all.
