Alfa, & Alan
Humble apologies! It is me who is confused; my trade was indeed on the 9th of course. I have been somewhat rushed off my feet of late and no longer know what planet I am on, even thought today was Tuesday until this pm!!! Jet lag has nothing on it! Ah well, thank God tomorrow is Saturday!

Anyone heard anything about the open offer from Selftrade who is my online broker. Anyway, I've just emailed them. Will post response if informative.

Lucky bugger Alan - wish SEO's RNS had made that clear on the day, so we could all have done that. Green in both senses!

robinhood - 19 Oct 2006 08:52 - 21637 of 27111

maestro one day you are screaming BIG NEWS IMMINENT next day your mate in the city tells you something big brewing and now you say sub 1p again. Do us all a favour and either shut up or short the share so we can all have a laugh

hewittalan6 - 19 Oct 2006 08:52 - 21638 of 27111

Luck on my part, SD. I bought them before the RNS!!!

greekman - 19 Oct 2006 08:53 - 21639 of 27111

Stockdog,

Not with Selftrade myself, but a poster on another thread who is with Selftrade also states they have heard nothing.
greek.

Stockdog,

I am with Selftrade.
You should see your allocation shown in the portfolio section of your dealing account. I phoned them yesterday and they advised me to ensure I transfer sufficient funds into the trading account and send them a secure message from the website stating that I would like to take the offer up.
As for the prospectus I downloaded it and read it from the Stanelco website.
Others appear to have had problems with their allocation from Selftrade (Which has been acknowledge) so if you have traded close to the 10 Oct (or not!) double check you have what you should have.

Hope that helps.

KH

I'm with Selftrade and hadn't heard anything yet. Was about to phone today.
Thanks, kevharris, for that info.
Do they say when the transaction will go through? Is there a time limit?

kevharris - 19 Oct 2006 10:36 - 21642 of 27111

Hi Paperbackwriter,

I was told 25 Oct on the phone but I have seen others have been told 26 Oct.
It is all a bit fuzzy! I have asked them to acknowledge my message instruction and will take it up over the phone on Mon if nothing heard.

Kind regards,

KH

and sp still goes down?

stockdog - 19 Oct 2006 11:31 - 21644 of 27111

Thanks kev and others for your help - appreciated.

One last question - anyone know if you hold stock in an ISA you have to take up the related 3 for 5 offer via the ISA, or can you do it through your trading account?

sd

robinhood - 19 Oct 2006 11:44 - 21645 of 27111

sd you have to do it thru your isa account. If you have taken up all your 7k entitlement this year and there is no pos. cash balance in the account then you have to sell some of your isa shares (any) to fund seo offer

robinhood - 19 Oct 2006 11:46 - 21646 of 27111

sd if that is the case you better sell some pdq as funds will not clear due T3 settlement date

garyble - 19 Oct 2006 11:57 - 21647 of 27111

SD,

The Halifax gives the following options:
"I would like these shares added to my ISA account"
" I would like these shares added to a Halifax Share Dealing Account"

So the answer is, you can take up the offer inside or outside of an ISA as long as sufficient funds are available.

EDIT:
"Any monies will be debited via your MAXI ISA on or after the 25 October 2006. Please ensure that you have cleared funds available by the 25 October 2006. If insufficient headroom is available in your MAXI ISA, the offer will only be taken up in your Halifax Share Dealing Account"

robinhood - 19 Oct 2006 12:35 - 21648 of 27111

Guess i stand corrected- apologies sd

robinhood - 19 Oct 2006 12:58 - 21649 of 27111

another point to keep in mind though...downside is only .8p/s -if seo goes under-whilst upside cud be potential which in the isa account is taxfree whilst subject to cgt in tradingaccount

PATISEAR - 19 Oct 2006 13:22 - 21650 of 27111

garyble

I also trade with Halifax, but I cannot find the options "I would like these shares added to my ISA account"
" I would like these shares added to a Halifax Share Dealing Account".

garyble - 19 Oct 2006 13:27 - 21651 of 27111

Patisear,

I thought you had found it when I posted the other day. The instructions are in the email you should have received a couple of days ago.

PATISEAR - 19 Oct 2006 13:37 - 21652 of 27111

garyble

I have got the 'Open Offer' and have elected to accept my allocation.
But on reading it I cannot see the part "I would like these shares added to my ISA account"
" I would like these shares added to a Halifax Share Dealing Account".
Mabey they put that section in for people with more than one account?.

garyble - 19 Oct 2006 13:43 - 21653 of 27111

Patisear,

That is most likely it. Might be a bit late to open one up now, but I vaguely recollect it was quite quick.

PATISEAR - 19 Oct 2006 13:44 - 21654 of 27111

Thanks.
