Anyone know anyhting about this Caylon Fund? They seem to have a lot of confidience in SEO - bought over or going to 7% of issued shares.
Could be one to follow if they have know something, any thoughts?

Stockdog,
Like you I cant see why you have to buy them in your ISA. What Inland Revenue Rules are there stating this. I suspect that it is as you say, just for their convenience. If you do get a response explaining, could you please post it.

can someone explain why these should/should not gravitate towards 0.8p in the short term?

Don't see why they should, because the dilution has already been priced in, as we all know the amounts involved. Even if the profit takers strike once dealing starts re the new uptake, I can't see it sinking to the offer price, although without news I would expect it to drop from todays price. The only way as I see it for the sp to return toward the 0.8p is if none of SEO's products produce the profits to keep the company going. Obviously the worse scenario, is total failure then the sp would be so low, the 0.8p days would look high.

greekman, thanks. A lot of people on the other board seem to be convinced that this is only going one way...down!

thanks tweenie my entire research was bascially my last post - but from the jist of the posts I think im going to look elsewhere - tomorrow im piling into either GTL or CFU/VLR.
But i still took up my offer of 4,500 shares which after all costs only 36 considering my intial investment cost around a grand and only got 7,500 shares!!!!
But i remain slightly inlclined to risk it all again after the Caylon show of confidience.

GD - Shows of confidence or a carrot under the donkeys noise!!! I have to wonder, still I expect I'll take up my offer if not already holding plenty.

Huge amounts of confidence oozing out from here, and one or two others.
As I said, 5p by spring is very probable, and may be an underestimate, though I do not want to come across as an understudy to PM1.

I haven't read this thread for a while but see you're banging on about Calyon as if they are good news. Well, I don't know how they fit into SEO, but I do know about arranging corporate finance.
I was a corporate lawyer until 5 years ago. I did plenty of refinancing work. What happens is the financer lends money in different tranches. The preferred tranches will get significant interest (much more than a bank will charge). The subordinated tranches will get even more. If the borrower can't repay the subordinated tranches, it gets refinanced again: usually the company will have a choice between going bust or issuing enough new shares to give the lender about 90% of the share capital of the company.
In other words, there are 2 likely effects of Calyons involvement:
1) SEO will borrow money at far above the market rate
2) Calyon will end up owning SEO by virtue of SEO being unable to service its debt
But as you say, it must be good news because Calyon are good at making money for themselves. I wonder at whose expense they get rich?

Have I missed something? I thouhgt the finance was in the form of share issue, so what relevance has post 21667 apart from Calyon possibly owning a big chunk of SEO by virtue of share acquisition?

You two "buff" boys, all we would like you to do is to let it all hang out but only in the sense of baring your souls - and maybe your soles - on this board!
Nothing else, OK!

Back to the on-line brokers bit.
While halifax have let me take up my offering, I have had no word from them about my voting intentions. Has anyone any idea how I can register my vote prior to the EGM? I hold no shares in certificate form and would not be able to attend the EGM anyway.
