Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

I thought I could select a stock on the watch list and that would take me to the quote, does not seem to work, nor does the chart or any other of the options.

kandrews,

Do you have any kind of personal firewall installed on your pc, such as Norton or Zonealarm? If so it may be this that is causing it.

Sector Names !!!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jun 2004 08:06 - 2173 of 7315

Brian,

I will call them again now.

Brian,

Sorry for the delay on this one - I have just got off the phone from our data suppliers and they have confirmed that they did indeed make changes to the way that the name is displayed with regard to the sectors. They all now have a prefix of UK FTSE 350 and then the sector name.

As this is a change at their end, I unfortunately, cannot change it back as it were. Therefore you will need to resize your terminal window to view the page correctly.

Many apologies that I cannot be of more help on this occassion.

However, we are in the process of changing supplier, which may solve the issue in the near future.

&ltgroan&gt (on behalf of all those who've now got to go and buy a plasma screen to see a sector list)Thx anyway Ian - hope you told them they are clowns.

Ian - I have Norton but I am sure it used to work, what do you suggest to try

Thanks

BrianTrayda and others:

I understand how you feel -- and I don't envy Ian his job of having to field all of this, as he has no control over it.

FWIW, Once you've enjoyed the experience of working with the raw data feeds in the way that we have, you'd consider yourself let off lightly :) We do try to insulate you from some of the effects of changes -- at the same time, the upcoming switch to a new supplier will bring a number of benefits.

And to be fair to the feed suppliers, they are striving to improve, which inevitably involves change. The feed suppliers are, of course, at the mercy of the various exchanges and that is a whole other story.

Cheers

Derek (IST)

Switched to new feed already? The sector names are back to the short version again. :-)

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jun 2004 09:40 - 2179 of 7315

Brian,

Nope, we haven't yet, our suppilers I know were looking at at this, so it may be that they could still change back to the longer format.

Ian

is it possible to update the PTG charts to show the data pre the name change from Wiggins.

many thanks in advance

michaelc - 09 Jun 2004 13:38 - 2181 of 7315

On the Forward Diary, would it be possible to use the EPIC's as links to charts ? Or have a seperate button for the chart ?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jun 2004 13:49 - 2182 of 7315

michaelc,

The Epics currently link through to the relevant date for any event and therefore cannot also click through to a chart.

I will pass this onto our developers though to consider.

Ian, thanks. Maybe a button like the one used on Stockwatch ?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jun 2004 14:32 - 2184 of 7315

michaelc,

We will take a look into this for you, but we have several other projects on at the moment, so it may be a little while before we can actually take a look at it.

Thanks

TT Anything I can help with?

Ian

Dil - 10 Jun 2004 16:00 - 2187 of 7315

Ian , don't know if this has been mentioned but when I log on from my home pc I log on from a link on another site. If I don't log off then when I try to access the site later I can get to the stockwatch page but can't access the bb's , I keep getting returned to the log in page whether I'm logged in or not.

Logging off and trying again has no effect.

Cheers

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jun 2004 16:02 - 2188 of 7315

Dil,

I am not sure but it could be a session cookies problem - can you check to see if they are enabled?

Ian

Dil - 10 Jun 2004 16:09 - 2189 of 7315

If they weren't enabled wouldnt this stop me accessing it the first time ? It is only the subsequent attempts at logging in after turning pc off that cause a problem.

Following day the loop starts again.
