THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

The Germans have the right idea.

Give horsemeat-tainted food to poor - German minister

Germany's development minister has suggested food tainted with horsemeat should be distributed to the poor.

Dirk Niebel said he supported the proposal by a member of the governing CDU party, and concluded: "We can't just throw away good food."

The opposition dismissed the idea, but a priest said it should be considered.

Oh yes. What really slays me about Fred is this unreal attitude that whatever he posts is of any relevance to anybody except himself. Eg "Refer to my post a week last tuesday, two years ago or the day before yesterday" News Fred, you post left wing shite number 1, number 2 it's crap and 3 you are a prick! Deal with it.

Perhaps they are trying to kill off the poor. The meat perhaps has drugs in that are not fit for human consumption.

Haystack - 23 Feb 2013 19:14 - 21797 of 81564

But fine for Germans eh.

and for fred and others who like to wear as a medal their lower class and impecunious upbringings, i'll post this afternoon (after golf) 3 nourishing and filling family recipes for breast of lamb ..... the 4 breasts cost a total £5.40 and though i use a bottle and a half of cheapo white wine (about £7.00), stock from a stock cube (or even water) could easily substituted for those who would feel guilty at splashing out so recklessly

Dreams.

You do seem to be involved with you bowels.

Almost as constipated as your present tory "leadership".

Suggest you need a good laxative.

Leaving a sinking ship.

Good to know your friends.

Ashcroft pulls plug on Tory donations

THE peer who spent £10m of his personal fortune bankrolling the Conservative party has declared he will withhold funding for its next general election campaign.

Lord Ashcroft, whose finances played a crucial role in Tory efforts to win marginal seats in 2010, has told friends he has given enough money and is unwilling to devote further resources to securing an overall majority in 2015.

It comes amid mounting pessimism among Tory supporters about the prospects of victory. Although Ashcroft has not publicly expressed doubts over the party’s ability to win, privately he is said to fear Labour is likely to secure more seats.

i think (fos)fred has taken over from MrT for posting incessant crap

Haystack - 24 Feb 2013 16:28 - 21810 of 81564

My cousin (not the same surname as he my mother's brother's son) did an investigation on Ashcroft for one of the major papers and TV, He angered Ashcroft so much that he mentioned him in his autobiography by name and implied that he would get his revenge on him.

Took the dogs for a walk around the fields and back through the village. The fields have dried with the winds. Hands were frozen as I got home as I forgot gloves.
Cynic I bet you was warm with all that on and on the move. Did you win ?

About time Fred came on the thread :-)) -

•The term used to describe someone who hogs the conversation. Who just won't shut up, babbles on forever taking over the conversation and really has nothing important or interesting to say (rather like a filibuster)

cynic - 24 Feb 2013 17:46 - 21813 of 81564

indeed, though it was just a typical sunday (un)friendly 4-ball ..... i'm lucky enough to play at one of the "name" clubs ..... we played the championship course, and though only off the tees-of-the-day, it was still long and very tough, especially the last 4 which were straight into the breeze
