Tanfield Group - any info out there? (TAN)

mr mike - 21 Jan 2004 13:49

Tanfield Group is the new company name of Comeleon. As I understand it, Comoleon was getting into trouble so TAN (paerent company?) took over. Since this has happened the share price has dropped by 0.25p each day for the last week or so (on average) and are now around the 3p mark with very little activity.

Does anyone know much about this company or previously held stock in Comeleon? There is virtually no info out there other than on the company website.

cheers

Mike

The issue of 77m shares would logically have the same effect as a 4:5 consolidation which would, in normal circumstances, reduce the SP to circa 1.45: not normal circumstances however so I cannot see why a fall to 1 should be rumoured unless it is to deramp (not pointing the finger at you Oilyrag).

PTH
"does the production of 500 vehicles per year support a SP of 2".................Hmmm, how long is a piece of string?! An Edison panel van costs around 38k including 2 batteries, an additional battery to give extra mileage would cost a further 8k. Not cheap but the cost advantages per mile against diesel is 17p, so that is a saving on just a single commercial vehicle averaging only 500 miles a week of 4,420 per year which, together with all the advantages which go with it, is a major selling point. I know, doesn't answer your question but
does show the potential for attracting sales. The company is expanding, costs will be higher initially but should be recouped from sales following increased capacity.

It may be a little too soon to be looking at a 2 SP but the future of Tan is surely rosy; Smith Electrical Vehicles have been around for 87 years and today's 'Green' market is more than ready to take them on board in a major way.

Is this a good entry point or do I wait for the quid level?

Cheers for info

Al - bugger off :-)

Big Al - 26 Jul 2007 13:21 - 222 of 1076

Oh, that's nice! Only asked an honest question. ROFLMAO!

Been monitoring this for a few days. ;-0

Big Al - 26 Jul 2007 13:23 - 223 of 1076

170p is a tempting level to enter

skinny - 26 Jul 2007 13:25 - 224 of 1076

60p was better :-)

ptholden - 26 Jul 2007 13:26 - 225 of 1076

Think you're taking the piss Al :))

Big Al - 26 Jul 2007 13:26 - 226 of 1076

Bugger off! ;-))

Big Al - 26 Jul 2007 13:26 - 227 of 1076

Not like me pth.

Seriously, she currently fits my criteria for long entry on this pullback.

BigTed - 26 Jul 2007 13:30 - 228 of 1076

could be to do with an article by Investec in the FT which was a misprint, they indicated a target price of 1.08 whereas they have actually upgraded to 1.86...
the 2 a share thing, well maybe not true value at the moment but the market always looks ahead...

kimoldfield - 26 Jul 2007 13:33 - 229 of 1076

Market's looking down a big hole at the moment, part of the reason for the (temporary!) fall in TAN's SP.

ptholden - 26 Jul 2007 13:33 - 230 of 1076

Al, did have a bit of support at 170 on the order book, that's gone for the moment and getting amonsgst the MMs now. I did think there would be a pull back to 175p last week, tweaked that chart support to 173p this morning, hazarding next support at 150p. RSI has dropped through support since the beginning of the year and MACD in danger of doing so. Each to thrie own of course, but personally I would wait for evidence of a bounce rather than trying to catch it. Would mean mising a few pts but better that than a triggered loss or locked in. No advice intended, just my little ol opinion.

Big Al - 26 Jul 2007 13:46 - 231 of 1076

pth - yep, 150p if 170p goes. Seems to be finding support here for now. It would be handy to see a decent flat bottom forming on the 60min for me. It's just sometimes the buggers go boing and you miss it!! ;-)

ptholden - 26 Jul 2007 13:54 - 232 of 1076

Certainly looking a bit more perky now Al, you may be getting your flat bottom soon, or is that from sitting on yer arse all day? :))

cynic - 26 Jul 2007 13:56 - 233 of 1076

my advice until things calm down is to do nowt

cynic - 26 Jul 2007 13:56 - 234 of 1076

.

Big Al - 26 Jul 2007 14:03 - 235 of 1076

Ain't buying anything with this sell-off for now. It's nasty out there. Methinks a lot of things are about to get an awful lot cheaper. ;-))

kimoldfield - 26 Jul 2007 14:09 - 236 of 1076

It's certainly going to get a bit bumpy!

cynic - 26 Jul 2007 14:58 - 237 of 1076

PT's post 230 is spot on, even though it is tempting to buy at today's level with sp nestling just on rising 50 dma of about 173
